Guests say

Ty Felin is a well-regarded cottage in Newport, praised for its excellent location, dog-friendly environment, and the helpfulness of the host, Roger. Guests appreciate the property's proximity to walks and beaches, as well as its well-equipped kitchen. While some guests mention issues with cleanliness and maintenance, the overall sentiment is positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

Reviews are mixed regarding cleanliness. Some guests found the property clean, while others reported dust, cobwebs, and musty odours. The floors and carpets were noted as dirty by some, suggesting room for improvement.

The location is highly praised for its access to local walks, beaches, and the town of Newport. The scenic surroundings and convenience for dog owners and walkers contribute to its high rating.

Comfort levels are generally good, with mentions of a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable sofas. However, some guests noted worn sofas and mattresses with springs that could be felt, indicating that some furnishings may need updating.

Facilities like the kitchen are modern and well-received, but there are several reports of maintenance issues such as broken bathroom tiles and a non-functional hoover. Some guests also suggested the need for more cleaning products.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the host. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

Primarily in the bathrooms but the spiders and cobwebs were excessive, even for a farm house. The kitchen however was well equipped and very clean.

Facilities at the cottage are good. We would say the downstairs bathroom could do with updating and probably a few more mirrors (seems minor) but better placed. The owner Roger was always available if you had any queries. All in all a wonderful place to stay homely and welcoming. Would definitely recommend. Thank you Roger

Great outdoor space with views of the sea to enjoy a BBQ. Relaxed informal environment which was perfect with a dog! We loved being able to walk to Newport either via the coastal path or through the countryside at the back. As well as beautiful beaches, it was the perfect place to explore other local attractions too - loved Ty Canol Woods and Pentre Ifan… very special and seeped in ancient history …. Would defintiely visit again- Roger was very helpful with friendly advice too- Diolch yn fawr x
