Guests say

Green Cottage is frequently praised for its cleanliness, warm and welcoming atmosphere, and beautiful surroundings. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, cosy log burner, and secure garden for pets. The local pub proximity and stunning views, especially of red kites, add to the charm. Some guests suggest minor improvements for comfort and facilities, but overall experiences are positive, with many looking forward to returning.

The majority of reviews highlight the property's cleanliness, with numerous guests describing it as 'spotless'. This consistent feedback suggests a high standard of cleanliness maintained at the property.

The location is generally praised for its tranquillity, scenic views, and proximity to walking areas and local attractions like the Elan Valley. However, a few guests noted the lack of mobile signal and the need to drive to certain walking spots.

Guests find the cottage cosy and the beds comfortable, with a warm welcome and a log burner adding to the comfort level. Some reviews, however, mention that the sofas and mattresses could be improved, indicating room for enhancement in this category.

Facilities such as a well-equipped kitchen, washing machine, and dishwasher are appreciated. However, comments about the need for a vacuum cleaner, more cutlery, and updates to the bathroom suggest that while facilities are good, there is a need for maintenance and upgrades.

While some reviews mention a welcome pack and a bottle of wine, there is not enough consistent information about thoughtful touches or gifts to accurately score this category. It should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed and may vary per stay.

Fridge seals mouldy also. Grimy bathroom floor , no extractor fan contributing to mould. Toilet soil pipe leaks over the floor. Stair carpet full of dog hair we took our own hoover and brush was covered. Broken loose slabs on steps in the garden. Bed uncomfortable feels like it is going to collapse. Left the property early as couldn't stand the damp making us unwell. Owner and Sykes cottages have been given the opportunity to resolve the issue . We have Sent all photographic evidence Yet have not been offered any reimbursement. Sykes have admitted there are health and safety issues but are still taking bookings for the property. Very sad being as this was our second visit to the property did not expect to find it on this occasion in such bad state of repair.

This cottage provides almost everything you need whilst away on holiday. After a long day’s walking in the Elan Valley, the least you expect is Comfortable sofa’s to relax on during the evening. Previous Reviews reveal the same comments…… The sofas are extremely Uncomfortable. But all in all, If comfortable furniture was available, We would return. Will not return, with existing sofa’s. A night light is required on the stairs for visits to the downstairs loo at night ( health & safety. Overall we give a 7/10.
