The entrance hall is equipped with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Outside, spend time on the terrace either in the hot tub or on the inviting outdoor sofas, appreciating views of Corndon Hill and the local wildlife including the barcud cochs (red kites) which frequently soar over the fields. You can also find a charcoal barbecue, and a handy outdoor shower. Enjoy exploring the surrounding area either on foot or bike with endless footpaths and bridleways on the doorstep including the National Cycle Route 81. Or travel into Welshpool and discover tearooms serving the local bara brith, the Powysland Museum featuring local artefacts and customs. Enjoy a train ride on the Welshpool and Llanfair light railway during the summer; there are also castles to explore with Montgomery, Powis Castle and Dolforwyn, as well as Gregynog Hall and gardens. The town of Montgomery sits just one mile from the border of England in Mid Wales. Popular with tourists, the town has a delightful selection of individual shops and a variety of pubs and restaurants, including the Michelin star restaurant, The Checkers, a fabulous way to make your holiday truly special. Pay a visit to the ruins of the 13th century Montgomery Castle, which enjoys beautiful views over the town’s timber-framed houses and cobbled streets, and beyond across Wales. The castle also hosts productions of touring theatre groups regularly during the summer. A few miles to the south is the historic market town of Bishop's Castle, an excellent place for a day or night out with its excellent pubs, live music and festivals throughout the year. The wider area is wonderful for walking and there are many cycle routes in the surrounding countryside with varying levels of difficulty. You can venture further into Wales with a drive up to the Snowdonia National Park, or directly west to Cardigan Bay, for the day, or hop back over the border and explore the Shropshire Hills aonb. A charming destination for a holiday.
