Guests consistently praise Tyn Llwyn for its stunning, tranquil location and beautifully restored character. The cottage's spaciousness, cleanliness, and modern amenities, such as underfloor heating and log burners, contribute to a comfortable stay. The surrounding views and walks are frequently highlighted, and the property's remoteness is seen as a positive feature for those seeking a peaceful retreat.

Reviews frequently mention the property being very clean, with no significant complaints about cleanliness. This suggests that guests are generally very satisfied with the standard of cleanliness at the cottage.

The location is highly praised for its stunning views, peacefulness, and proximity to walks and nature. The remote setting is appreciated by guests looking for tranquility and a rural experience.

The comfort of the cottage is well-regarded, with mentions of cosy log burners, underfloor heating, and comfortable beds. Some minor suggestions for additional furnishings and soundproofing between floors prevent a perfect score.

While guests appreciate the property and its features, there is insufficient information regarding gifts or special touches provided by the hosts to accurately assess thoughtfulness. Therefore, this score is set to null.

About this property

Llanelltyd 2 miles. A delightful stone-built, Grade II listed former farmhouse, set high up in a peaceful, isolated location, on the foothills of Y Garn Mountain yet only two miles from the village of Llanelltyd, in Southern Snowdonia. Oozing character and coming complete with lots of original features, Tyn Llywn offers spacious and comfortable accommodation for larger families or groups of friends who are in need of a relaxing holiday in an away-from-it-all location. Boasting spectacular views of the Cader Idris Mountain, as soon as you arrive at this property you will be in awe of the tranquillity and outstanding beauty that this holiday home has to offer. When you approach the entrance to this characterful property, you’ll notice the adjacent stone barn, where you can store your bikes. As you enter, you’ll come straight into the first of two sitting rooms, with flag stone floors and original oak wood beams, comfy seating for five and an inviting woodburning stove, set in a gorgeous stone fireplace - perfect for those chillier nights. To your left, a door will lead you to the second sitting room, with a superb grandfather clock, additional seating for five guests, a further woodburning stove and a TV to cuddle up in front of with your favourite DVD – a great hideaway for the children whilst the adults swap stories next door. Straight ahead of you to the left of the stairs are two steps leading to the fully-fitted kitchen with dining area, offering seating for eight, a TV and a lovely AGA – an inviting focal point for a family meal to remember. To the right there’s a handy utility room, with a cloakroom adjacent to it. Ascending the original wooden stairs to the first floor, to your left is a spacious double bedroom, straight in front of you is the single room and to your right a further double bedroom - mind your head here as there are beautifully-restored original low beams. There’s also a family shower room and along the hall, another door with low beams will lead you into the master bedroom with Velux windows, a king-size double bed with an en-suite bathroom, complete with a period roll-top bath. The grounds at this property are fully enclosed with ample space for parking, a barbecue and furniture to enjoy a drink whilst watching the sunset, and you are also surrounded by open farming countryside, with walks galore from the doorstep. Just seven miles to the north you have Coed Y Brenin mountain bike trail centre, one of the most revered rides throughout Europe. There are also the outstanding sand dunes of Barmouth just 10 miles away to the west, as well as the idyllic market town of Dolgellau only four miles to the south, with a fantastic range of restaurants and historic buildings to explore. This splendid property is a great base for discovering Southern Snowdonia or for a break away in complete privacy.

Set at the starting point of the sweeping Mawddach Estuary and caught between Snowdonia’s sea and mountain scenery, the small, peaceful village of Llanelltyd rests amongst climbing green hills, offering a perfectly peaceful holiday location for touring this vibrant area. The crumbling Cymer Abbey, a 12th century romantic ruin, and St Illtyd’s Church, thought to be one of the oldest in Wales, stand testament to the village’s past.

Tastefully decorated farmhouse with great attention to detail. All 6 of us loved the place. The hill road up to the farmhouse could be challenging in bad weather but the reward was the views. The owners welcome pack was a nice touch. A visitors feedback book at the property would be a good idea. We will definately return.
