Guests say

Stiniog Lodge is a spacious property in North Wales, appreciated for its excellent location and ample space for large groups. Guests have enjoyed the proximity to attractions and the scenic views. The lodge's kitchen and living areas are highlighted for their ability to accommodate big parties, and the owner's responsiveness and helpfulness have been well received.

The lodge generally receives positive remarks for cleanliness, though some guests noted issues with garden furniture and the presence of sheep droppings outside. There were isolated comments about mould and general upkeep, suggesting room for improvement.

The location is highly praised for being close to tourist attractions and adventure activities like Zip World. Its setting in North Wales offers stunning views and is convenient for exploring Snowdonia, contributing to its high rating.

Comfort receives mixed reviews. While the beds and living spaces are commended for their comfort, several guests mentioned the need for additional seating and the inconvenience of the bathroom arrangements, which detracted from the overall comfort.

Facilities are adequate, with a well-equipped kitchen and spacious dining area. However, guests frequently suggest the need for additional bathrooms and minor maintenance, such as fixing games equipment and providing more hooks for convenience.

While some guests mentioned receiving a welcome basket and other thoughtful touches, there are not enough references to consistently evaluate this category across all reviews. Therefore, it cannot be guaranteed that such gestures are a standard practice.

About this property

A lovely, spacious, detached property nestling in its own grounds, just one mile from the centre of Blaenau Ffestiniog, in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. Located next a two minute walk to ZIP world caverns and at the foot of an extreme downhill mountain bike track, Antur Stiniog, this Welsh cottage provides a fabulous base for getting outdoors and exploring the surrounding area. It features a large farmhouse-style kitchen and dining area with a breakfast bar. There is also a large comfortable sitting room with a woodburner to relax in front of. A door leads through to a games room, with air hockey table, sofa, TV and board games. Upstairs has five spacious bedrooms, two of them benefiting from an additional open mezzanine sleeping area, allowing flexible sleeping arrangements for larger groups. Outside has a terraced garden with a lawn, patio, furniture and a pond. A great spot to relax together after a long day out. There is plenty to do in Blaenau Ffestiniog, from the walking and cycle trails to the Ffestiniog steam railway line, and popular underground slate caverns, all within easy walking distance. For the more adventurous you have right on the door-step Zip World Titan with its amazing zip lines or Bounce Below with its underground trampolines. Within a 15 minute drive are the famous Coed-y-Brenin and Betws-y-Coed. Situated close to so many attractions, this is a lovely cottage for your Snowdonia break with friends and family all year round.

The historic slate town of Blaenau Ffestiniog is situated in a superb, central position for exploring the Snowdonia National Park, and has a good selection of amenities. The main local attractions include the slate mines - where visitors can take fascinating underground trips to see mining as it was done in days gone by - and the famous narrow gauge Ffestiniog mountain railway which runs for 13 miles through the Snowdonia National Park to the harbour town of Porthmadog. It is spacious enough to accommodate three families(of 4), grandparents, and a small dog as well. Children loved playing in the garden and all the activities that are available in close proximity. The views and surroundings are absolutely amazing. Sharon, the owner, is very helpful, ready to answer to any question and made sure we are well looked after, thank you for that.

Super comfy beds, which were much needed after a hike to Snowdon summit. Would recommend.

Downstairs is a shower room with toilet next to it in the utility room. The host is really lovely and very helpful. Plenty of room for a large party and a great base for zip world and beyond. Definitely recommend Stiniog lodge
