Blaenau Ffestiniog is a fascinating old slate town settled in North Wales, and makes an ideal location for exploring Snowdonia National Park. There are numerous shops, pubs, and restaurants in the area, along with fun-filled attractions such as the Zip World Slate Caverns. Additionally, the famous narrow gauge Ffestiniog mountain railway runs 13 miles through the picturesque National Park to the port town of Porthmadog. Portmeirion village, famous for its architecture and the film set of the cult TV series The Prisoner, is nearby, as are a number of glorious beaches.
