What our customers say about their holidays

    • Elaine - Verified booking

We left the property in as good a state as possible.

However, this was limited greatly by the lack of cleaning tools here e.g., no dustpan/ brush, cleaning cloths etc. There is only a small vacuum and a few J cloths which we used to make sure sand etc. removed from the floor areas and surfaces are clean. A couple of points to note: the general cleaning regime here is not that great. On arrival, the bathroom wasn’t pristine, previous occupants hair stuck to tiling and beside the bath (neither of us has longish red hair) & skirting needing a deep clean. Area under the sofa bed had not been cleaned - seems that the sofa not pulled out to clean beneath. Washing machine intermittently showing a fault code F08, so used very little. The bed is extremely uncomfortable. I had to use sofa bed and no separate linen for that. Only one set of towels to last a week for each of us, one toilet roll and one spare bin liner. Modestly shrouding (net curtain, perhaps) needed at bedroom window as occupants in flat behind frequently passing by. Welcome gift of Prosecco and chocolates very welcome but milk would have been useful. Plentiful tea/ coffee/ sugar, though. Great that there’s a dishwasher and shower is powerful! There is an iron, which isn’t listed but very useful nonetheless. Flat is well located for beaches and walks, decent range of crockery and glasses and, for its size pretty comfortable.

The place is lovely and a perfect location beach only a 5 min walk away!

we had a box of chocolates and bottle of Prosecco for arrival. The place was tidy and had everything we needed. However the bathroom shower head holder is broken and water just goes everywhere so the whole time we were there no matter how much you dried the bathroom it just felt damp. The rest of the property is nice again damp in the bedroom in places. Leaving clothes in the draw feeling damp so wouldn’t recommend using them! By the French doors in the bedroom floor wet a few times. This has now left us feeling a little under the weather. We would recommend this place but just needs some maintenance to resolve the damp not a just dehumidifier in a corner.

The cottage itself was really nice and very well equipped.

It was perfect for what I needed - a base whilst walking the coast path. It's right on the coast path, and the beach at Rhosneigr is beautiful. The only issue I had was that it was listed as having parking, but it didn't have any allocated parking, it was just on road parking, on a first come first serve basis. A few little things that would be a useful addition: a washing up bowl, so you don't have to fill the whole of the sink; some more practical chest of drawers in the bedroom, as although they look nice and match the bedside tables, they are not practical - I couldn't even fit t-shirts in the draws.

Location great, it was a basic base to stay with most things you need.

However as weather wasn't great it wasn't a comfortable place to hang out or sleep in for long and we stayed a week. The apartment had damp on the walls where crockery is stored. Our clothes where damp and any wet towels and swimwear from days at the beach just couldn't be dried. Washer dryer was useless as it didn't dry well. The drawers for storing clothes where terrible literally space for a ball of socks in each drawer! No parking and both sets of neighbours park right outside both windows so little privacy. OK for a couple of nights if weather's good, not best place for a long stay.

The cottage needs a really good clean.

There is mould over the tiles and sealant in the bathroom. The skirting boards are dirty. The door in the bedroom gets so wet the floor in front is soaked. We had no towels, tea towels or dish cloth left, and a dirty duster left on the windowsill. Skirting boards not finished off and paint work missed. The TV is digital but not smart so you can’t get iPlayer etc. The cottage is in a lovely location. It needs a bit of TLC. A welcome pack or even just a pint of milk in the fridge would be nice after a long journey to the cottage.
