What our customers say about their holidays

    • Sonia - Verified booking

The house was fantastic, it is beautifully decorated, really well maintained and very clean.

It has everything you need and more. It was in the perfect location for exploring Whalley and the nearby surroundings. Julie was amazing, she met us on the first night, welcomed us to the property and showed us around. She gave us some wonderful advice on local restaurants, pubs, walks and activities taking place over the Easter weekend, all of which we did and thoroughly enjoyed! All the family had a brilliant time away together - adults, children and of course the dog! We would highly recommend this property and would love to go back. Places we enjoyed visiting include (all dog friendly): Artisan Deli & ice cream parlour in the centre of Whalley - great for lunch, cakes and ice creams. Forum in the centre of Whalley - we had a lovely dinner there and great cocktails too. Aspinall Arms - dog friendly pub approx. 2.4 miles away, lovely food and drinks, the staff were great too. Mitton Hall - dog friendly in the bar area, approx. 2.3 miles away, lovely food and drinks, the staff were fantastic here too. Springwood - we had a nice dog walk on Easter Sunday here. Clitheroe - we took our dog on the train and he had a blast! We went twice, once to visit the castle and shops, then the next time we went to Holmes Mill to do duck pin bowling. Thank you to Julie and Paul for being fantastic hosts! Many thanks, Sonia

Such a unique property and location!

We were so lucky to have had the opportunity to stay at Julie's lodge. The Lodge at Bridgeway was exactly as described, spacious and comfortable to accommodate 6 people. Anything we needed was at our disposal, and Julie was always helpful and extremely responsive if we had any questions. Whalley is such a special village, perfectly based to explore all that the Lancashire countryside has to offer. The lodge is right on the public foot path to Springwood forest, an ancient woodland with beautiful wildflowers. There is also many walks nearby, including the hike up Whalley nab, a circular walk from the Aspinall Arms, and the many walks around Pendle Hill and the Forest of Bowland all within close distance. Restaurants in Clitheroe were also very easy to get to in approximately 10 minutes by car. In terms of local highlights, we enjoyed a lovely meal at King Street Kitchen just around the corner, and took full advantage of the sun-trapped patio on the property to enjoy ice cream from Holden's & Co. Jack's of Whalley was a great little bar with lots of gin options! And finally, having a train station with service to Manchester was a bonus. We hope to return to Whalley one day soon, and would not hesitate to book The Lodge at Bridgeway!

Stayed at this property for 2 weeks whilst having work done to mine.

We were met with a very warm welcome by Julie, who then showed us around. The property itself is beautiful and is set in a peaceful location. Inside it only gets better!!! It's immaculate, very spacious, has a lovely layout and feels very homely. We had a welcome pack of champagne, beers, tea, coffee, milk, bread etc, but knowing we were also bringing a dog, she had even supplied treats, food dishes, blankets etc for her. It has everything you need and more..we wanted for nothing. On occasions we met up outside, I was met with warm and friendly chats...Julie has a great sense of humour. She is very approachable and helped me on a few occasions letting the dog out if I was to be away for a few hours. I would definitely recommend this property as I can guarantee you will not be disappointed. Even though we are only 4 miles away, if I have family to come and stay, or even for a break, I will definitely look at going back.

Myself, my husband, son, daughter and our little dog have just returned from a great 3 night stay at the Lodge.

We wanted to stay somewhere in the countryside, away from the hustle and bustle of cities but still in drivable distance to take our son to Uni in Liverpool. It was the perfect location for us. It is an absolutely beautiful house in a lovely area. The house is very spacious and has been fitted out to a really high standard. Everything is thought of, there are torches for late night walks, umbrellas, board games, books as well as a smart tv and Wi-Fi. The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine too. Great views and good walks to be had around the stunning area. It is in a great location just a five minute walk from the village with it’s lovely little coffee shop/sandwich bar. Some nice pubs, wine bar, Italian restaurant, and takeaways. Julie, the owner is a truly lovely lady who is very welcoming. My husband and I hope to return again for a longer stay, maybe without the kids!!

      What an amazing gem.

The lodge is absolutely beautiful, well presented and has everything you need. After exploring the local area , it is lovely to come back and chill in-front of the telly with a drink on one of the comfy sofas. The bed was amazing , slept so well. Located only a five minute walk into the town that has excellent facilities. The Dog Inn was very welcoming and The Friary fish and chips were exceptional . We walked up to Spring Wood , which was a bit muddy due to the rain we had but worth a visit. Train Station was only 15 minute walk to travel further afield as well as bus station 10 mins away. Julie was a prefect host ,very welcoming and who was on hand to offer advice on where to go. Definitely will be back to visit more of the Ribble Valley. Thank you Julie , Sam ,Linden &Ozzie xx
