What our customers say about their holidays

    • Sarah - Verified booking

We have just come home from a wonderful family holiday in the Stable.

We chose the Stable because of the fenced in garden for our twin toddler boys and our 2 dogs, we also loved the sound of the hot tub. It was perfect for us all. The garden was great, the boys loved riding their bikes up and down the slope, it was very safe and secure for our boys and dogs to have freedom to run and play. Inside the house was very tidy, it had everything we needed to make home cooked meals, comfortable beds, a lovely big bath and powerful shower. Other facilities… Our boys are too young for the games room, however, it looked like fun for if we come back for future holidays, the washing machine and tumble dryer were a massive bonus, we came home with no washing to do, ‘Happy Mummy!’ The boys loved the climbing frame and slide, it was perfect for them. The cottage is set in beautiful surroundings, after putting the boys to bed, my husband and I enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub with stunning views of rolling Welsh hills. We made friends with the cows in the field outside, the boys loved running out to see them every morning, and watching them from the window as we ate. The owners of the cottage were very warm and welcoming, they had lots of information for great places to take the children. We loved Aberporth beach, there is 2 beaches in Aberporth, one which is dog friendly. New Quay was also beautiful, we enjoyed walking along the harbour, seeing all the boats, and enjoying a delicious ice cream. We loved the Moody Cow, with a brilliant indoor and outdoor play area for the children to burn off some steam, and a delicious farm shop. There was also a lovely looking restaurant, but we didn’t have a chance to try it out. We had a fun afternoon in Borth. A beautiful little seaside town. We enjoyed fish and chips in the Sands cafe, then walked a 15 minute walk to a small place to enjoy feeding goats, seeing rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, pigs, tortoises and many more animals, with 2 fun climbing frames our boys loved! It was a really fun afternoon. The area is very quiet, safe and idyllic. We were sad our holiday has come to an end, could have happily stayed another week, we have come home and already looking at dates to rebook in the future.

From arrival the host Andy was very welcoming and knowledgeable about this beautiful area.

The cottage welcomed us with a huge real Xmas tree and tasteful decorations for Xmas, the fairy lights made the whole place magical. Mill cottage was spacious for four adults and four little dogs with and enclosed garden at the rear and extensive access to local walks. The place is a little off the beaten track, but this was what we wanted. There nearest shops ect are in the village of Aberaeron a 10 minute drive away. This is a really pretty town with harbour and access to the beach where we could walk the dogs as it was winter time. The cottage has WiFi...if you needed it... It had a TV and radio... The cottage is full of charm and spotlessly clean. The property has three bedrooms, one en suite double, another double and bunk beds in the third. The large kitchen diner is very comfy, if I was to make a suggestion... The integrated fridge was small and struggled to cope with the Xmas demands of food... Although there was a communal freezer in the games room/area.... This kitchen would easily accoomodate a large free standing fridge freezer and that would have been a huge bonus.... But really wasn't a huge issue as we adapted with freezer bags and used the outside to store wine/beer etc... Nature chilled them for us. We would very much recommend mill cottage and we look forward to a return very soon. We had a relaxing wonderful Xmas and so did the our dogs.

Very spacious and comfortable property with real character and well set out.

The outside space was great for keeping our dog safe ,outside lights ,bbq area, washing line ,seating area and hot tub which was a special treat even in late October!! My seven year old loved the games room and play area was also a great surprise too. would also have definitely used washing machine if staying longer ,an added bonus to be taking home clean clothes. Kitchen great with large fridge freezer, large dining table ,dishwasher etc we used facilities every morning to cook breakfast and prepare packed lunch for the five of us ,we found everything we needed but may have been useful if the toaster had been larger as it was a little tricky to provide warm toast with cooked breakfast for five guests at the same time. Beds very comfortable, plenty of wardrobe space ,reading lamps in every bedroom. loads of coat hooks ,coffee tables in lounge and plenty of room for outdoor shoes under stairs, during the winter months ,kids bedroom great and plenty of storage space for cases loads of mirrors sockets, a bonus having three loos, hocks on every door also in bathroom great for clothes ,dressing grown ,swimwear and toiletries, Would definitely recommend this properly for couples and families alike would love to return during summer months to make more use of facilities provided. Also the great local walks. A great four night break had by all the family.

A fantastic week with our 3 dogs and 2 Grandchildren.

The cottage was extremely clean and tidy, which was brilliant for us as we arrived quite late after our long journey. The hot tub was an amazing asset and huge hit with the little ones, and ourselves. The rear garden was fenced in so that the dogs were well controlled but free to venture out as well and the views were phenomenal. Indoors we couldn't want for anything else, except maybe a bit of lube on some of the door hinges upstairs. Not any sort of problem but very noisy once the little ones were asleep. The only slight downer, particularly for my ancient bones, was the low and soft sofas. Like i say, only a problem for me and next time we will take a few cushions. Just something for future guests to be aware of in case they are of a similar state of worn-out-body-itis. I would highly recommend this holiday cottage for very many reasons and the hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. Definitely going back soon, as we were informed by our 5 year old Granddaughter!

Fronwig is a great location with amazing views.

For a 5 star property we expected a few more of the basics to be right though. Needs a better equipped kitchen, baking trays for cooking, chipped mugs to be replaced, kitchen roll etc. Hand towel in the downstairs toilet and handwash. The welcome pack was probably the most underwhelming we have ever had, a pint of milk, and a couple of tea bags is a small cost but always appreciated after a long journey, instead of just a bara brith cake. Be prepared to spend a few hours getting the hot tub filled and the water warm. The garden was secure for the dogs (just one section where, if your dog is inclined, by the front gate, they can get on top of the wall and out). The bedrooms are all a great size with basic furnishings. Overall it’s a beautiful spacious house, could just do with a few more home from home comforts for the price. Do take note of the house info about the parking space being tight, it certainly is if you have a big car.
