What our customers say about their holidays

    • Crawford - Verified booking

Myself and my husband stayed a week at Adams cottage.

To say we thoroughly enjoyed our stay is an understatement. We would have happily stayed another week or more! The cottage itself was very cosy and inviting with beautiful and calming decor. On arrival we were welcomed with a lovely bottle of fizz (my favourite) and lovely chocolate ginger biccies ( again a personal favourite). We thought this was a lovely gesture. The kitchen was fantastic and well equipped should you want to cook and eat in. There was a hair dryer and hair straighteners too which I ended up not using as I was too relaxed and not caring how I looked. Our bed was king-sized and very comfortable and the pillows were too. Myself and hubby slept in each morning. The shower was powerful with constant hot water. Overall such a lovely cottage. Imagine wakening up to cows mooing and sheep bleeting. Making your morning cuppa and seeing cows in the fields. Absolute bliss. Our hosts were a lovely couple who were so friendly and helpful and on hand if needed. They both kindly gave us a tour of their farm and animals. The newborn lambs were adorable. It was lovely to meet the horses, cows, sheep and lovely Mist the sheepdog. It's lovely to meet a genuine family who are passionate about animals and their work. I guarantee you'll enjoy your stay and be left with magical memories.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay.

The owners left a welcome pack of crisps, Prosecco, biscuits plus fresh milk from their own cows - a lovely touch! The cottage was spotlessly clean and had quality fixtures and fittings. The owners have obviously taken a great deal of care and attention to detail with the property. The bed was very comfortable, the cottage was warm and well furnished with everything you could need. Parking wasn’t an issue as there was plenty of space in the farm’s courtyard. Mist, the farm collie was a sweetie too! Our dog had use of a little part of the garden which you could use to sit outside if the weather is nice. We were visiting family at Edinburgh which was just under an hour away so it was handy for us - Berwick was about 15 minutes away too, Eyemouth about 10 minutes and Dunbar about 30 minutes or so. The cottage had a book of walks so we walked from to Coldingham Bay and along the creel path to St. Abbs; it was a lovely 7 miles along footpaths and the beach, well worth doing if you have time. We would have liked to have stayed longer but sadly we weren’t able to but will no doubt visit again. Thank you Barry and Elizabeth

Barry and Elizabeth have created an extremely comfortable holiday cottage at Adam’s House.

We were met with a nice friendly welcome, including a welcome pack of ground coffee, fresh farm eggs and biscuits, and our hosts were very helpful throughout our stay. We had planned a week of snorkelling round the Berwickshire coast so the drying room was a major factor when we chose Adam’s House. All our wet equipment went in each evening and was thoroughly dry in the morning when we needed it again. The house itself is well appointed, stylish, warm and comfortable. Comfy bed, good strong shower and a cook’s kitchen - good quality equipment, everything you could possibly need including sharp knives! All the entertainment worked perfectly - Sky, TV, Bluetooth speaker, and clear and comprehensive instructions for their use were supplied. Private garden at the back with views over the rolling countryside from a sheltered table and chairs, ideal for breakfast outside or a place to sit of an evening. A very peaceful and tranquil place! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would heartily recommend Adam’s House to anyone planning a holiday in the area. We plan to return...

We had a fantastic week here.

Couldn’t have been more central in the beautiful town of Eyemouth. The house was so spacious and tastefully decorated. The only thing that let the property down was the standard of cleaning and a few maintenance jobs needing done. Considering entry on arrival is 4.30pm and you have to be out by 9.30am on departure for the purpose of cleaning it was disappointing. We found an extra set of keys for the house (presumably previously lost) down the side of the sofa, a bottle of buckfast wine under a sofa, a kids game under another sofa. A ceiling light fitting above the bed in one of the double rooms also fell off in the middle of the night. We also had trouble with the log burner. On the 2 occasions we lit the fire smoke was escaping into the room causing the smoke alarm to go off for a lengthy period of time - even the lovely neighbours came to check we were ok! A little TLC could really make this house first class. Although the points mentioned were a little disappointing I wouldn’t say I’d never go back!

This is a lovely property on a very clean working farm.

The property is approximately a mile from the village. The road is a country road, with no pedestrian footpath, so care should be taken when walking or driving. The property is attached to the farmhouse, but has its own door and there is access to a small garden. The property itself gorgeous. It is clean, comfortable and well equipped. Examples of the equipment available are, iron and ironing board, hair dryer and straighteners, everything you need for your dog (bowl, towel, toy, treats, poop bag), the list is endless.... It is a real home from home. The owners are lovely, they are there if needed, but not intrusive. The welcome pack of wine and biscuits was a lovely gesture. All in all a very good holiday, despite the weather.
