Seahorses is well located on the outskirts of Fowey, on a very quiet road. Being just a short 10 minute walk downhill into the center means the house also has plentiful parking and no need to navigate the narrow streets. We were warmly greeted with a little gift which set the tone well. The house was warm at all times, clean with all the amenities we could ask for and more. It was a pleasure to use the kitchen to cook for family meals and the living space with seating, dining and kitchen allowed the family to all be together. The living space was light and bright with views on to the back garden. Beds were all comfy, with towels provided. As a request, for future stays, it might be helpful to just have an extra hand towel in each of the bathrooms as there were only our shower towels. Very picky, but could make life slightly easier. There is a shop just a 2 minute walk along the road that is open most of the week until 6. Well-stocked with essentials as well as some butcher meat too. Nearest supermarket was St Austell, 15 minute drive away. We were well within reach of many places including Eden Project. We ventured a little further to Looe but you really don't need to. Great walks from the house itself. The loop across to Polruan and Bodinnick is worth a mention, as is the walk along to Gribbin Head. Communication prior to our stay was great. Frequent emails regarding key safe, directions and check in times. Kudos, the property was ready early and we were told we could arrive early but by the time we received the message, it was too late for us to head down to Cornwall to benefit. Perhaps more ideal if you live closer. We wouldn't hesitate staying again! The only niggles we had, and we appreciate this is not necessarily a reflection on the owners of Seahorses... 1) A 9am departure, whilst also being asked to strip the beds and empty all the bins, is quite tight in terms of turnaround times. Any other holiday lets we have had in the past year, who have asked us to do these things, checkout has generally been 10am - affording us that extra time. It just meant the final morning wasn't relaxing which was a shame. I think if departure is 9am, then perhaps they need to review what they're asking guests to do. 2) A security deposit of £250 is a lot of money to 'shell out' when there seems no immediacy for its return other than a message from Cornish Horizons stating 'We'll be in touch soon'. Whilst I appreciate the need for the property to be protected against damage, I do wonder if there is another way of being able to retrieve money should the property be left in an unacceptable state that doesn't inconvenience the majority of guests.

First View Thank you for providing the lovely gifts of Cider & biscuits.
I loved your cottage, the views were amazing of the sea and countryside. The decor and furniture was lovely. The shower was lovely too. It really did help us as a family to use your washing machine and dishwasher. The garden was beautiful. The only negative comments l would like to say is that we had to roll the rug up in the living room because it was covered in pet hairs and my grandson was covered in hair. I swept the floor where the rug was and filled the dustpan with hair and dust. The grill wasn't clean when we arrived but your cottage is beautiful and so is Boscastle. I would love to stay at your cottage again. Second View Boscastle feedback a beautiful location ideal base for exploring cornwall luvly clean house with a superb view. Third View Thank you for welcoming us to Honeycroft cottage with a lovely bottle of cider and biscuits. We loved every part of your cottage, views of the sea, countryside and all the little shops down in the valley. The only negative I would like to mention is that we had to roll up the rug in the living room as it was covered in pet hair and my son kept getting covered in it, the upstairs toilet seat is loose and the oven grill tray wasn't clean. Lastly I would like to say that your cottage is a beautiful place to stay and us as a family enjoyed it very much. Boscastle is beautiful. We would definitely recommend and would love to stay at your cottage again in the future.

The property is very lovely.
The view is to die for, and the house is nice in the most part. The garden is lovely, and the dogs were perfectly safe there and didn't escape. However, I don't think that the owner has actually slept in the double beds. If he had, he would have changed them. They are double beds, with double duvets (an absolute no in my view!), the mattresses were so hard and the bed made such a racket every time you turned over. In the end, we moved the spare single beds (which were super comfy) and camped out in the lounge! Also, be aware there are no wardrobes whatsoever throughout the property. It's not so much of an issue if there are only 2 of you, as we used the other rooms to hang anything we needed to. There are lots of drawers though. Finally, the kitchen is well stocked, but again, there is nowhere for you to store your food for the week, as every cupboard is stuffed full of glasses, plates, cleaning supplies, etc. We created a "pantry" by the fridge and just stored everything there. There is a great shop at the bottom of the hill, which has everything you need and more and they're super friendly too. Would be rebook? Only if we knew that there were new beds, mattresses and bedding. It was lovely, but we won't be back.

We had a great weeks holidays even with the storms raining sideways!
It was great for the kids to have their own rooms and space to get away from each other. Beds were comfortable, rooms well decorated with beautiful views out to sea. Good lighting, I do like a lamps and rarely use the main ceiling lights. Only downside is there is no hanging space. Kitchen is well equipped and there is everything you would possibly need to cook or bake a cake even. We played cards after dinner in the conservatory every night, great to listen to the rain! Lounge is cosy and comfortable with duel aspect windows and amazing views, no matter what the weather. The large TV is smart so you can log into Netflix/Disney+ etc. Wifi does drop off every now and then but only in heavy storms, so no different to the centre of Kent! You could get three cars on the drive if needed. All in all a great property for a family holiday. Boscastle is a great place to explore northern Cornwall. A few nice pubs and very quaint. Walk down to the harbour and stop in the pubs on the way back, for fuel, itâs steep coming back! Tintagel and Port Isaac are worth a visit too.

What a thoroughly enjoyable stay at Seahorses! We were a family of 4 and a dog. The house is really bright, airy and very spacious! All the bedrooms were well equipped with extremely comfortable beds. Lots of wardrobe or drawer space to unpack which is always nice. The children loved having their own rooms. The view from the main bedroom was stunning! We really enjoyed the decking area and were lucky to have had a week of sunshine to make the most of it. The garden is small but filled with beautiful planting. It's nice and secure if you have a dog. We also made use of the BBQ a couple of evenings. Its in a very quiet road and a there's off street parking for 2 cars. A pleasant 10 minute stroll downhill takes you to the river front with all the gorgeous shops and eateries in Fowey. Walking back uphill was harder but it was good to walk off dinner and a Ruby's ice cream. There was a little playground opposite the house which was handy. We felt a week wasn't enough and would love to return :-) Thank you Seahorses!
