    Isle of Lewis Holiday Cottages

The Isle of Lewis is the largest island of Scotland’s Outer Hebrides. Streets of Victorian homes line Stornoway, contrasted with stretching white sand beaches in Great Bernera. The evocative Time and Tide Bell tolls out across the Atlantic waters and this sign of the island’s heritage is just one of that remaining today and the village of Ness is a stronghold of the local language (a Gaelic dialect). Brace the wind and head off to the Uigs Abhainn Dearg Distillery, the island’s whisky producer, before heading off to the Callanish Standing Stones to watch the sunset.

All of Snaptrip's holiday cottages on the Isle of Lewis have been specially selected for their charm. Choose from family-friendly, open plan farmhouses to cosy stone cottages for a romantic break. Easily find dog-friendly accommodation, so you don't need to leave your furry friend behind.

With thousands of holiday cottages throughout the UK, all backed by our best price guarantee, we're sure you'll find the perfect spot for a break. Our customer service team are on hand to help, if you have any questions.

2 x reviews from both engineers which stayed at the property for work.

Frist Great home to stay in and was made to feel very welcome. Lovely touches throughout like the heated blankets & snacks Everything you need in one place Cosy home and great location 10/10 would highly recommend Second Mr Macleod is a lovely gent and couldn't have been more helpful or welcoming on our arrival at this lovely property. All the rooms are incredibly comfortable, clean and homely. All the facilities were very clean and the shower was great! The kitchen is fully loaded for whatever you needed to be able to cook and again very clean and organised. Overall a very pleasurable stay and i would to come back with the family one day, hopefully in the summer time. 10/10 - 5 Stars from me. Thank you very much for having two engineers from Nederman, we hope to use you again in the future. Have a lovely Christmas.

Dunard Villa was clean, comfortable and spacious.

Prior to our arrival beds had been made, towels were available in kitchen and bathrooms and there was a "welcome pack" of basic food including bread, butter, jam, home-made marmalade, eggs and bacon in the kitchen. The property had good central heating and excellent hot water. The kitchen was very well equipped. During our stay there was no equipment or facilities which we missed or believed would have been necessary. The property is within easy walking distance of a large Co-operative supermarket and, indeed, the whole of Stornoway town centre. Shortcuts through the Lews Castle grounds give the walks added pleasure. People with limited mobility might note that there are a number of external steps leading from the pavement to the front door.

The owner was very welcoming and we really appreciated the pack of food for breakfast the next day.

The property is very comfortable and spacious, everything spotlessly clean. We appreciated the owner’s understanding when a family circumstance meant we were unsure when we could travel, he was flexible in allowing us as much time as needed to let him know about our travel plans. Thank you!

Ideal for us three solo motorcyclists having a garage is great ,pity garage doors didn’t lock if I’d known I would have brought two padlocks with me that said area very quiet in a cul de sac, will definitely return but maybe stay for a week as four days not enough to see the isles

We all really enjoyed the cosy, well equipped, spacious house, a real home from home. Mr Macleod has been a lovely host - very welcoming and attentive. We would highly recommend this lovely house to anyone visiting Stornoway.

Callanish Standing Stones & Visitor Centre

The Callanish Stones were discovered in 1857 by landowner Sir James Matheson who saw them protruding from a peat marsh and decided to excavate them, exposing this 5000 year old stone circle moment. From a stone circle, four rows of old stones radiate outward, resembling a rough cross. A massive, 4.8-meter-tall monolith stands in the centre, watching over a stone burial kist that is tucked inside the circle. The stone circles dominate the surrounding landscape. Visitor centre offers tours and information. Calanais, Isle of Lewis, HS2 9DY
