    Knighton Holiday Cottages

The border market town of Knighton sits in two counties and two countries: Powys, Wales and Shropshire, England. Knighton has a chequered history, governed by the Council of Marcher Lords for many years, who met at nearby Ludlow Castle. Today, both English and Welsh are spoken here and the town thrives in its diversity.

Sitting on the River Teme, the town is surrounded by the Marches countryside. Knighton is known in Welsh as ‘Tref-y-Clawdd’ — translating directly to 'the town on the dyke'. Home to the Offa’s Dyke Visitor Centre, an information hub for wildlife, walking and cycling routes, Knighton is popular for its scenic location. Choose one of our dog-friendly accommodations so Fido can enjoy the great walking routes of Knighton, too. After all that exploring, wind down at one of our properties with a fireplace or hot tub.

Knighton holiday cottages come in all shapes and sizes and are backed by our best price guarantee. On Snaptrip, you can filter for all the amenities you might need: from the luxury of a hot tub to a swimming pool. Overwhelmed by choice? Drop our friendly customer service team a line. Lovely cozy cottage.

Amazingly comfy beds, well equipped, very clean and tidy, good supply of towels, a very generous welcome pack to start you off, smart TV, internet was brilliant, lovely log burner for cozy evenings after time out walking. Try the Offa's Dyke Trail, you can plant your feet in both Wales and England at the same time :) and it's a lovely walk along the river. Mostly everyone you meet says hello, it's a very friendly town. Lovely neighbor, not intrusive but happy to pass the time of day if you bump into him. Lot's of places to eat, we ate at The Banc for a birthday celebration and went back on a weekday evening (Specials on Monday and Tuesday, mains for £10), really friendly. A compliment for Claire (sorry if it is mis-spelled) at the Horse & Jockey, lovely and friendly and very informative. Watsons Real Ale House, you can buy a chippy tea from next door and take it in with you to sample the ales. The Little Black Sheep Café, very cozy and friendly, lovely staff/owner, although there are lots of Cafes to eat at and all look lovely and welcoming. All eating/shopping places withing a few minutes walk away, Costcutter, the butchers in town serves all your needs and very friendly too, lots of lovely little shops. The Co-op is a little further away but also easily walkable for anyone mobile, although I would suggest you take the car as, although the entrance is small, it opens up like a Tardis, you could buy practically anything here. We have loved our time here and would definitely visit again.

It was evident that this was a new venture for this property.

Exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated, very warm, and the facility to change the heating, no mention that the unit to do this was free standing and separate from the boiler. Lots of storage in the kitchen. Advertised as having internet connection which was not the case, we had both intended to do some work whilst away which was very inconvenient. You would need to be steady on your feet, many steps, some very deep within the property and stairs were a little difficult if not sure footed. Some explanation into what we assume was a shared gate to access terrace at rear, a chair or seat of some kind would have been nice at the top of the garden. We were only two, I can imagine four adults would have been very cosy. We could have used a broom to keep floors swept. The table was untreated wood and we were concerned to keep it clean, a wipeable tablecloth might be a consideration before it gets more marked. The owners telephone number on the top of the cottage information has a digit missing. Somewhere obvious to hang wet coats would have been good. Very minor, a towel for the downstairs bathroom would have been nice. I think probably only comments that need sharing are its cleanliness, there is no internet, there are a lot of steps within the property probably not suitable for elderly and that it was ideal for 2 or 3, however 4 adults would be cosy.

Stayed with my ageing parents, who managed the stairs well (they are active).

House is situated directly opposite Offas Duke centre and path with great free parking. Wonderful beds with quality bedding. Comfortable seating and an effective woodburner. Well equipped kitchen, cooked most nights as a keen cook everything was there. He great to see it in summer, as we had snow, snug in winter. Excellent butcher in town and lots to see. We three recommend the house highly. Stairs, although steep, really not a problem for active elderley. Lastly absolutely spotless in terms of cleanliness. Couldn't fault it 10/10 to the housekeeper.

      A lovely, cosy cottage.

Very clean and bright. Bed is very comfy. Could maybe do with a small table and chair set/ bench of some sort to enjoy the garden more. It is requested to leave the property 'as you find it' so maybe a broom/ small hoover to enable better cleaning?! There was just a small brush and pan! I would like to point out the step from lounge to kitchen is quite high, i suffer arthritis in hips and legs so did find it a little difficult but not too much of a problem. Overall we had a lovely relaxing stay, thank you. Mrs Russell

Pinner's cottage was extremely comfortable for the two of us (I think it would feel a bit cramped for four), the bed was very comfortable and the cottage was spotlessly clean with lovely soft furnishings.

The kitchen was well equipped with electrical appliances and had basic cooking utensils. Although there was no freezer the ice box compartment in the fridge was very effective and reasonably spacious. The cottage is terraced and on the road but the noise was not overly intrusive at all. The cottage is ideally located for exploring the area and easy to walk to pubs, shops etc. We would definitely stay again.
