What our customers say about their holidays

    • Alison - Verified booking

We had a wonderful stay in Northumberland, 23 Valley View was warm and clean, with a very comfortable bed and wonderful shower.

My husband enjoyed the golf course every day and the dog enjoyed the walks through the woods. All towns and beaches were within easy access and we spent a lot of time exploring. We did have a few issues, we were unable to watch live television (rugby world cup) however hard we tried, we managed to sign into netflix eventually, Iplayer was very bad . The welcome pack consisted of a couple of tea bags and some sachets of milk and sugar... no one expects a special welcome but when you were stuck in a huge jam on the A1 for two hours (we had a long journey anyway) and arrive late its nice to be able to relax with a few cups of tea before having to rush to the shops. A small amount of washing up liquid, cleaning cloth and small amount of liquid hand soap would have been nice as a starter. The information pack could do with some updating, it would be helpful if the Wi-Fi code was in it, we had to hunt around for it and maybe the instructions for appliances, we weren't sure how to use the dishwasher but found instructions in the end. Also some information on recycling that was available at the site. 23 Valley View was a great place for a holiday, the site was quiet and everyone was very friendly, will certainly be considering another stay.

It was a lovely, cosy welcoming cottage in a brilliant location central to lots of wonderful sights of interest.

We have been to Northumberland 5 times and this was the best cottage. The decor was homely and it was very well furnished with comfortable beds. The kitchen was well equipped and a joy to cook in. We were very comfortable there. A couple of very small issues for the owners attention include: •There was no cutlery holder in the dishwasher •The leaflets could be more up to date (one was from 2016) • There were no teaspoons! We had to buy some. We left them in the cottage for others. • for the cost of the cottage the welcome pack could have been a little more extensive and exciting! We note that others had a welcome hamper years ago! We really liked Lesbury village. We supported the community shop which we thought was a great initiative. Unfortunately The Coach House was shut for renovation, otherwise we would have supported them as well. We highly recommend The Hope and Anchor in Alnmouth - fantastic Italian food and friendly staff. We would definitely return to Willlow Cottage and recommend to friends. Thank you for a lovely stay :)

Kittling Nook is a lovely clean, comfortable centrally located, dog-friendly bungalow near to restaurants, small shops, and of course, Bamburgh Castle.

We were lucky to have great weather for the whole week. We enjoyed delicious meals at The Victoria and The Crab and Lobster. We pre-ordered a delivery of essential food, but also used Carters butchers, and bakery for freshly-baked bread, and other items from The Pantry. It was great to have a designated parking space for the cottage next to the Sunningdale Hotel, which was great until the last night, when someone parked in our space, while we went to Seahouses for an Indian meal. On our return, we had to park some way down the street, and so we had to re-heat our food! The staff at The Sunningdale Hotel were very helpful, as the offending car was still in our space the next morning, and we were due to leave before 10am… the owner of the car said he had not noticed the Kittling Nook Please Leave Clear sign until that morning, and aplologised, and moved his car! I appreciate that was not your fault, or that of the hotel, but just thought you would want to be made aware.

We had a lovely stay at the caravan with our Border Collie who loved all the walks around the site and the area.

We used it as a base to visit Alnwick which was a 15 minute drive away also went to Seahouses and Bamburgh about 40 mins drive and Amble was worth a visit too. The nearest town Felton was about 3 miles away which had a little shop to stock up on some essentials but you really needed to go into Alnwick for a bigger shop. As for the caravan itself it had everything you needed although the mobile broadband was a bit unreliable it wasn’t too bad and didn’t affect our enjoyment overall. The only issue we had was the ensuite tap was cold it didn’t heat up but the shower was fine and it wasn’t really a problem. So we would suggest that although the information pack was very informative it should include how to report any problems. But we loved the caravan and the site itself the welcome pack was very much appreciated and we would definitely recommend it.

This pretty cottage in the heart of the village of Elsdon is an absolute gem.

We were lucky enough to be the first to stay in it since it was refurbished and it has been done to an exceptionally high standard. Everything you could want is on hand from tupperware for picnics to an electric blanket for chilly nights. The property is clean and spacious with stunning views over the Northumberland countryside and in the national park so thousands of stars on a clear night. There is a village pub open four nights a week with its' own micro brewery and the village also offers some interesting history including the remains of the best preserved Motte-and-bailey castle in Northumberland. The cottage owners are a delight and we would love to stay here again as it is brilliantly located and well appointed. In fact, nicer than our actual home!
