This holiday home has been absolutely perfect for us, very clean, well equipped (it has everything you need, description doesnât list everything it has) and in such a quiet and peaceful area, at night you can only hear your own heartbeat!
In great location for exploring Scottish Borders and Northumberland. Great garden for the dog to run around in as well, weâve had a lovely weather through the entire 2 weeks so we did a lot of al fresco dining.Thereâs a BBQ in the shed although we brought our own as we didnât know one was provided. The only issue was the bins, dates provided were all wrong and when we arrived, the black bin was half full and it hasnât been emptied despite us following instructions. So this needs to get looked at as I couldnât find any info online on Scottish Borders council website as this address isnât on there. Overall we have had a wonderful stay though. Thank you

Sadly the heating and hot water wasn't working until Tuesday afternoon, so we were left chasing Sykes and the Cleaning Company to get help to resolve the matter.
Numerous phone calls and emails and speaking to the site contractor meant that the heating system was repaired but it was set so low that it only worked when the heating engineer tested it on the Tuesday. As this was so stressful it really took the shine off our holiday, yet it was a beautiful wee house. The area was a little lacking in things to do if the weather was poor, which it was last week. We left the cottage a day early as we were cold and feeling quite depressed by how the heating issue had been handled and the lack if response from Sykes and the cottage owner.

We had a great time in a modern, clean and comfy Lodge, it is rural, as the listing says, but many attractions are with in a short drive.
Just take plenty of supplies. The only thing that spoilt it a little was that the lawn had not been cut so the garden was a mess and the black dust bin was full, we ended up bringing our rubbish home. On the last morning we woke up to a power cut, not the Lodges fault, but it meant we had to leave with out our morning coffee or being able to run round with the hoover as we normally would. Are power cuts a regular occurrence? if so a battery hoover may be a good idea. Would stay again in the same place.

Really nice house.
Warm and comfortable with high quality furnishings and bedding etc. The kitchen is very well equipped. The garden is also secure for dogs or children. A great location as Swinton is a quiet and peaceful area and plenty to do within a reasonable drive for days out. This was our third visit to Gordon Lodge and we have another booking for September as we really like the house and the area.

Your bungalow is the most fantastic base for exploring the Borders. We would recommend visiting Holy Island, St. Abbas, Coldstream for the history and Holy Trinity Church in Berwick, a Cromwellian church but with beautiful stained glass windows. Once again thank you for allowing us to share your wonderful property, it is hoped that we will be back!
