Wey House is warm and comfortable and incredibly peaceful, despite being so close to the village center. We really noticed how quiet it was and also - being part of a dark skies area - the amazing night sky. Being so close to the shop was a real and unexpected bonus - perfect to walk down the drive and pick up essentials as well as local treats! Oh and the pub is within easy walking distance too. The beds are really comfortable, there was loads of piping hot water, and plenty of room to spread out. Wey House is a relaxed and informal house set in lovely gardens and backed by well fenced paddocks that were ideal for our dogs . We also made great use of the barbecue. The house is inviting with lots of character and great views, and perfectly placed to tour Exmoor and the surrounding areas. There are also some good walks around the village too. We had a great time and are hoping to go back! Tony and Anita, the owners, who also run the village shop and tearooms, live in the village and were really welcoming, as well as quick to help and answer any questions . Altogether it was a thoroughly enjoyable and very welcome holiday.

Great sized house, especially for multiple families/generations, plenty of space for kids to run around and for everyone to get their own quiet space when needed. The house is pretty dated and in need of some upgrades, the oven didn't work but Tony responded quickly and brought a spare one to us from their tea shop, however it was incredibly dirty inside so we chose not to make food at the house, which added a fair expense eating out every day! The kitchen felt quite grubby and the oven trays in the drawer were greasy. The seat pads at the dining table are covered in stains, as are the white leather sofas and one of the cushions is really worn away. There were some wall stains (possible damp) behind the tv in the dark living room. On a plus side the bedrooms were clean and the bedding was lovely and clean and comfortable, there is a lot of parking which is rare and good outdoor space. It could be an incredible place, it just needs a bit of money spending on it!

Tony’s house was perfect for our family to all have our own space but also be in the same room but not overcrowded. We even lost our one year old at one point as she loved exploring the house 😂 There was more than enough room for all three cars and the garden is absolutely beautiful! Our children and dog had the times of there lives running around. The house is also really interesting and has many things to look at. Lots of the house is really traditional and we really enjoyed the homely feel. We had such a lovely time all together enjoying the house but we also loved the village. The village is picturesque and having Tony’s shop and tea room a stones throw away made the weekend even better. The village had such a lovely feel and we will definitely be coming back again for a longer visit! We met Tony and he was extremely welcoming. We would highly recommend staying here.

The house is beautiful and Tony is a wonderful man, he was easy to contact, if we needed anything. I took my five grandchildren with my son and his mother in law, the house is so big that sometimes it took some times to track down the grandchildren. The village has a wonderful shop where you can buy anything you need for a great meal whilst on holiday, three of my grandchildren are vegetarian and Tony ordered Quorn nuggets, which they loved. The tearoom is wonderful a great cream tea and a good selection of ice creams. I highly recommend the beautiful house, we had a wonderful holiday with memories that my grandchildren will treasure for ever according to my granddaughter. Lastly we must not forget Harvey the dog down the Lane, who my grandson became good friends with and his owner. All the people welcomed us and treated us with respect, even when my grandchildren became a bit rowdy. We all had a great holiday and are already planning on booking the house.

The village itself is perfect for a weekend away without much driving, a stones throw from the house is a picturesque bridge, the friendly tea rooms and traditional well-stocked shop. The pub is a stones throw and has a great menu and is full of Exmoor character. Highly recommended!
