What our customers say about their holidays

    • Steve - Verified booking

Really relaxing few days with our dog at Westoe Hideaway.

. Made to feel very welcome by owners Steve and Sue who were on hand if needed and made us feel at home straight away. Exceptionally clean and well presented accommodation , very comfy bed, superb shower and facilities and we felt very relaxed on arrival with everything we needed right there. Enclosed area for us and the dog to relax morning snd night to enjoy the views of the surrounding area and all 3 of us slept very well in the property after a few busy days out and about in Wales and Llangollen. Thank you to our hosts Steve and Sue for making the property available for guests to enjoy and we had a great few days. Some great walks to enjoy with the dog in the countryside or along the canal bank with both a short stroll from the property. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend this property in Llangollen where there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Fabulous cottage, so clean comfortable and well equipped.

A cottage but with modern facilities. Lovely comfortable beds, the garden so peaceful and pretty with an abundance of birds visiting the feeder, so nice to sit in the morning sun with just birdsong to listen to. The field just across the drive is great to let the dog off for a good old mooch around, the views of the hills lovely from here. Penny and Digby are a very nice friendly couple, available but not intrusive. We ate out in Lampeter, a town a 10 minute drive away, would highly recommend ‘The Black Lion’ a very nice reasonably priced pub with parking at the back. The Elan Valley a great place for walks or you can drive up to see the dams, very impressive! Just head to the visitor centre, info available there. We had a wonderful holiday in a wonderful cottage, would definitely recommend.

We had an absolutely wonderful short break here.

Tucked awatin the hills to allow us peace and quiet from the hustle and bustle of daily life and yet.... a good venue to dip in and out of places you want to go. good routes to surrounding areas. A lovely welcome gift was warmly appreciates, wine, Conwy ale and welsh cakes :) Luxurious decor ran throughout the flat and was tastefully done. loved the kingsize bed and roll top bath and double shower. Only thing I noticed that was not there was A FIRST AID KIT. Luckily when I bumped my head on the low beam, it was not needed. Did not sit in the garden ara as it as quite dark at night and may benefit from some solar lighting. Would have been nice. When back in wales, we will definitely book here again. Also, liked the recycling bins, which are easy to use.

Yes we would suggest a freezer would have been great, / there was no freezer box ether/ we had a problem with the very low beams it did no say in the information that the beams were so low, if you are 4 ft 6 ins you are o.

      K. To go under otherwise have to duck very low, still we are well into Our seventy s but we managed hit our head s a few times though. As for the loft very spacious ,clean, comfortable,,lovely quiet area in the trees with a stream running by , needed tidying up outside bit of a mess indeed have to carry your stuff from the car a bit of a way as can’t park outside the property as it’s gated off , but plenty of room parking maybe for 3 cars on the lane, / Sykes should put better information on for people to know before you book/ But all these few problems did not spoil our holiday in central we had a good week, only a few miles away from the famous Conwy ,and the great shopping town of Llandudno lovely area to explore people, cheers Hywel and Carole

We had the pleasure of staying in Ty Barcud for a week in September.

The property is very well equipped and immaculate. There are even books and games for those not so nice days. The whole site is very well cared for by the owners, Penny and Digby. Who are a lovely couple who do everything they can to make your stay as special as they can. When you arrive there is a lovely welcome pack with even treats for your dog. Plenty of information leaflets and if you want to know more about the area they will help with more local knowledge. This is by far one of the best cottages you could wish to stay in. If you have a dog the enclosed field is a definite added bonus. We had the worse weather of the summer but the cottage was so lovely with a log burning fire we could still enjoy our stay. Will definitely be back.
