What our customers say about their holidays

    • Joanne - Verified booking

A fabulous retreat in a beautiful setting ideal to relax and switch off for a few days.

Very dog friendly with an enclosed garden that was very safe and a place to wake up and watch the wildlife, we did see Deer and foxes each day. The cottage is beautiful very comfortable with high quality furnishings that were very new. The open fire was lovely especially during November but the cottage also had a great heating system too. A real home from home is very true. Many lovely walks on your doorstep or a very short drive away such as Daventry country park and Badby woods and the Holly bush inn pub very close walking distance. We also found a local farm shop in Eydon called Dodds manor farm where we bought local steaks and cooked them back at the cottage, delicious! Lucy the owner checked all was good as we arrived and was there if we needed anything but we didn’t had she had also kindly left milk and biscuits for the tea and coffee provided. Amazing cottage and we will definitely be back

The property itself was well appointed, comfortable and clean.

The hosts were lovely and very helpful with an early issue discovered on entering the property. Pretty walks close by. However we did find that it was not as secluded as the pictures on your site would suggest as the owners door was right next to the bathroom window at the back. Also a large diesel tank was close to the front door of the holiday property which was rather pungent and meant the door could not be left open. Unfortunately it was not very peaceful either as they have four small dogs that barked around the property most of the day (I think this was led by the young spaniel). This put our 9 yr old rescue dog on edge as he just got barked at when he tried to approach them. Also with their entrance so close we could hear them coming and going with car doors slamming at all hours and the dogs barking whenever they had visitors coming or going.

Tiles to kitchen floor cracked, loose and extremely slippery to dogs, not suitable.

Conservatory tiles much better. Bedrooms small for doubles. Shower head not secure Front door lock difficult to lock and unlock. Conservatory door difficult to open. Cobwebs to conservatory ceiling Door nobs to wardrobes loose. Trickle vent to main bedroom window was broken when we arrived. Lots of leaves to garden that kept getting brought in to house. Some lights to garden did not work. Main bin outside full to top. 4pm late arrival not suitable, 2pm at latest would have been much more acceptable. Bed very comfortable. Tea, coffee and milk a nice touch as property is remote. Property overall is nice and peaceful but slippery flooring to kitchen prompted us to cut short our stay as one of the dogs could not cope.

We’ve had a lovely, relaxing few days exploring the Cotswolds from The Paddock.

Accommodation perfect for two. Bright and modern with all the essentials. A shame our commitments meant we couldn’t stay a little longer. Located on a working equestrian yard, as explained in the details, there was a little noise at times but nothing I would call unexpected or excessive. We were delighted to meet all four of the very friendly, small dogs who lived with the owners. Honington is a stunning village. We were so lucky our holiday coincided with the National Garden Scheme, Gardens Open for Charity; we had a wonderful afternoon exploring all of the 10 beautiful back gardens taking part. The local town had all the facilities we needed, only a short drive away, or a beautiful 1.5 mile walk over the fields.

Middle Cottage was ideal for us and our dog.

The accommodation was very modern, clean, comfortable and warm. Also a very practical lounge/diner all in one space downstairs with an easy clean floor - perfect at any time of year due to excellent heating plus log burner. The village is quiet but has a good dog-friendly pub. We found local walks a little frustrating as despite having a young and agile border collie cross she was defeated by some of the stiles on signposted walking routes. However trips to places such as Stratford upon Avon and Stow on the Wold plus walks along the Oxford Canal were good alternatives. We regularly stay at holiday cottages and have been doing so for 30 years - this was one of the nicest!
