What our customers say about their holidays

We very much enjoyed our stay in Beach View. Without doubt the magnificent sweeping sea view (all the way from the Isle of Wight to the Isle of Purbeck and Jurassic Coast) from the back of the house and garden is the best feature of the property. The beds are also considerably more comfortable than in many of the Rural Retreats we have stayed in. I have rated it 4 rather than 5 stars because of the traffic noise from the through road at the front of the property, which was particularly disturbing at night and early in the morning, with the windows often rattling as vehicles drove past. Three of the four bedrooms have windows facing the road - only the master bedroom does not. Also, making the sharp right angled turn in and out of the driveway was quite awkward, particularly given that there were often cars and vans parked on the road immediately on either side of the entrance.

The accommodation and location warrants 5 stars but this was our third visit and we noticed several areas where some attention is needed and which, given the price, one would have expected to have been dealt with. 1. There were at least 20 downlighters not working- one in the kitchen actually exploded while we were there. It needs step ladders to deal with. 2.We had a need to use the first aid boxes, which were totally inadequate, empty boxes where items had been used and not replaced and obviously they had not been checked. Fortunately we had one in the car. 3.One "leaf" of the dining room table drops about half an inch if one puts any pressure on it. 4. The top of the cupboards in the "techno" room was covered in dust. 5. Two of our guests moaned about very uncomfortable mattresses. Given the price we paid, we consider these points in aggregate to be unacceptable.

Gorgeous house, fantastic location. First stay in Dorset and determined to explore. Walked to Hengistbury Head and took ferry across to Mudeford Quay, then back through Christchurch. Much exploring during our stay, Kimmeridge Bay, Lulworth Cove, walking up and over to Durdle Door. Recovered with Sauna and Jacuzzi at Carlton Hotel. Explored Wimborne, Blandford and the jewel that is Sherborne. Also Lyme Regis watching tubs of crabs being unloaded at the Cobb. Walked to Old Harry Rocks from Studland. We booked some meals at the house , wonderfully cosy and great to awake to views of stormy seas! A packed and exhausting week, what fun we could have got up to if the sun had been shining and we were all 50 years younger!!

An excellent 3 generation get together for the New Year. We have really enjoyed using the superb accommodation in spite of fairly extreme weather. The boys (3&5) really liked the den and the recorded stories - quite different from CDs. The strong winds and heavy rain caused some problems with our planned ideas for the break, but we went twice to the Moors Country Park near Ringwood and we highly recommend this to anyone with children up to 12 year. (older if you want to Go Ape). Had a slight problem with the entry into the swimming pool, but found the support from the owner over this issue and others to be prompt and first class - thank you.
