We had wonderful time in Foxglove Cottage!

Great location, on a quiet street, but only minutes from lots of handy shops. The cottage was really comfortable and pretty and we enjoyed having coffee on the sunny little terrace in the back garden. Lovely to be able to walk from the cottage along the river to the quay at the Quomps, and explore the castle ruins. Particular highlights were hiring sea kayaks from the nearby SUP School, having a cocktail in Dirty Gerties on their terrace below the castle, to swimming at our favourite and beautiful beach near Highcliffe Castle (a short drive away). Mickey was so helpful before and during our stay, and advising on parking and places to visit. A really perfect week!

Lovely bungalow in a quiet cul-de-sac near the beach and very close to a good pub and walkable to local amenities.

The welcome pack was much appreciated particularly the treats for the dog. Living area very comfortable although the tv is in a strange location. We liked the extra loose chairs when an alternative to a sofa is preferred. Bedrooms both comfortable and plenty of towels provided. Again the bedroom tv was strangely located not facing the bed. The toilets and bathrooms were very clean and modern. We did have to buy a few tea towels as these were not available and a pint glass or two and some larger mugs wouldn't go amiss. The garden is perfect with attractive raised beds, complete privacy and totally secure for dogs. Overall a fantastic property in a great location.

Whilst on the whole we were happy with the property itself the fact that parking is limited outside is a problem.

The convenience of the property so close to the main town is a bonus and the road relatively quiet apart from early morning bin collections. The lack of freezer was disappointing it’s no good saying that it was removed because it was broken it should have been replaced. We didn’t need washing/drying facilities but the siting of them in the outhouse was not attractive. Why isn’t there iron and ironing board? I know that electronic info is now order of the day but a hard copy of important information regarding facilities would have been helpful. Although the weather was not great the garden wasn’t attractive enough for us to want to sit outside.

The accommodation was very clean and tidy.

The beds were comfortable and plenty of storage. An enclosed garden suitable for a dog woukd be a sun trap in the summer months. Location was perfect for beaches and the New Forest and within easy walking distance of the High Street where there were a variety of eateries. A 5 minute walk via a cut through was The Oak, which is dog friendly and an excellent menu. We had a lovely few days at Ivy’s Place, just a shame the weather wasn’t better.

The bungalow was excellent ideal for shops and beach.

The weather was not great on our visit and would certainly consider returning earlier than the end of September. The property was well presented and our only gripe was the build of dirt at the bottom rim the shower door. Enjoyed eating out locally but found the cost of a large glass of wine at the Oak£14.10 +10% service charge a bit steep though food was good.
