What our customers say about their holidays

    • David - Verified booking

Whilst the bathroom, bedroom and kitchen were generally acceptable, although not good, the living areas were poorly maintained and in an unacceptable state of cleanliness.

On arrival we had to do a thorough clean of all surface areas, including soft furnishings. There were two sofas, we only sat on one, after surface washing, drying and spraying with dettol upholstery aerosol, the other sofa remained unused. The rocking chair was filthy and need several cleanings and spraying before it could be used. There was a large fresh blood stain on the back of this chair too. All switches and light pulls had to be cleaned, the floor lamp was filthy. Under beds remain dusty. Most of the cobwebs have been removed, but not the large old one between the oven door glass. The Beach Shack was far cleaner after our stay than it was before. The Shack was well ventilated - you could see through gaps in the walls and around all the poorly fitting windows. Two of the three external doors were non-operational. There appears to be a number of attempts to fill small holes around the wooden frame windows with random blotches of white filler, which was then left un-sanded etc. The garden was overgrown, although there was recent evidence of hacking back of the brambles. However, the kitchen utensils and dishes etc were clean and appropriate, the bedding and towels were clean and there were clear instructions re waste disposal. This Beach Shack has obviously been loved in the past and could be lovely again with some care and attention to detail. The location was the Beach Shack's saving grace. It was idyllic, very beautiful beach and excellent country walks.

The lodge was amazing, so comfortable and clean, bright and spacious .

everything you needed was supplied including comfortable furniture out on the decking to relax on. instruction booklets were supplied for everything in the lodge except the combined washer/dryer (having never used one before I wasn't able to use the machine provided-but as I was on holiday I decided the washing could wait anyway lol)) the lodge is situated just metres away from main reception, and a very short walk to the local shops and takeaways. Also just a few minutes walk to the arcade and swimming pool and the main Club house where we enjoyed the entertainment provided and even had a game of bingo. The beach is wonderful and just over a 5 minute walk from the lodge, and if you've got a car then take a trip into Tenby itself for a great day out, it's beautiful. I'd definataly stay here again and have recommended it already to others. The owner-Elaine sent me a welcome message on our journey to the lodge explaining everything and it gave us assurance too that she was available if we had any concerns or problems during out stay, but we didn't as the holiday and the lodge was perfect.

      Where do I start.

. Very difficult to locate with inaccurate directions and nobody answering the phone to speak to about this! The local shop within 1 mile appears to be closed constantly and shuts daily at 14:00 meaning when you check in at at 15:00 there is nowhere to shop - nearest supermarket is 20 mins away. The shack is held together with temporary repairs and just needs some tlc. We spent the first night deep cleaning the touch points and surfaces. 2 door handles are broken which made using them interesting. Spiders and cobwebs everywhere, including oven (yes that’s that right, the oven). Children and us refused to sit on furniture so purchased some bed sheets to use as sofa covers. Previous guests food was left in fridge, shower also had previous users belongings in. Active wasp nest on the side. Our Dog developed an allergy whilst there which must be dust related. Dog poo left in the garden from previous user. Checked out early. I could go on and on… Been back two weeks and still await feedback and a resolution from Sykes, very disappointed. I will be exploring false advertisement of this holiday

A lovely lodge but it was badly let down by the House Keeping.

We booked a 3 bed lodge so we could choose where to sleep, only the main bed was made up, the other singles were left unmade and nothing like the photos shown on line, it also looked like it had not been cleaned as it had hair and dust everywhere, we had to hoover ourselves. The on-suite shower was constantly running hot so you risked burning yourself also the rubber strip from the shower door was broken and just left propped up in the shower. The Lodge unfortunately borders a main road, which is used as a race track, there is another road along the other side of it and a foot path for the park running along the front of the lodge, so whenever people came back from the pub/show bar late at night it could be quite noisy, not ideal as this set the dog off barking. The decking was a lovely sun trap and furniture nice to sit out on but on the whole we were disappointed as this is not Sykes usual standard.

      Pretty poorly maintained property.

Not easy to find if you arrive after dark.a lot of water damage to property which owner attempted to repair but in my opinion done badly.if you look closely to their photos can clearly see water damages.doors and windows not air tight.property feels damp when first arrived.had to put fire on as not enough heat source but had to clean fire first !! only cleaning equipment is a broom and dust pan and brush.no hoover ? both settee covers can do with a wash or maybe replacements.only good point about property is a comfortable bed and beautiful area.pull cord switches doesnt always work.had to replace light bulb in kitchen.replacement bulbs in bathroom covered with cobweb and dust.value for money and meet covid cleaniness-definitely not.will upload photos on a later stage
