What our customers say about their holidays

      We had a great week.

The lodge was lovely with fabulous bathrooms ( showers were marvellous). Beds were really comfortable. There was plenty of space and it was really warm which was great as we went during Storm Dennis. We were able to take both our dogs and the walks from the lodge were excellent. The hot tub was fun and the owners were frequently on site to make sure it was clean and operating properly. Matt and Mark were both very helpful and were on hand when we had queries. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The only thing to watch out for if you have dogs is that the garden is not currently secure and the dogs could access a communal space, which in busier times might have been an issue. There was an outside verandah space which was secure but not suitable for dog toileting. I think the garden is to be made secure in the future. I would recommend the lodge, and the position by the lake was a great spot for a holiday with access to sailing, canoeing and rowing.

We had a very relaxing stay.

The property is well maintained and very comfortable. It's worth noting that the road to the property is very rough and muddy. Also slightly disappointed with the communication from the owners, a welcome email wasn't received, so we were unaware the hot tub wouldn't be available on our final night. However when my husband spoke to the owner he made sure we were able to use it. There was no information in the property except for a few leaflets left by previous holidaymakers. In the past we have been used to a folder or something to let you know about the property and surrounding area. Thanks to Google though we were able to investigate the area during our stay.

We arrived on 25 August to be greeted by the cleaning lady who was finishing off her duties.

She took time to show us around and was very welcoming. The lodge itself was fantastic with everything you needed for a comfortable stay. We had some issues with the hot tub that we caused by pressing some wrong buttons but the owner resolved this immediately even though he was in France on holiday! We really felt at home in the lodge (there were 6 of us and a dog) and found the location to be exactly what we needed. I could not recommend this place highly enough and we will definitely be returning in the future! Thank you to Mark and Matthew and a shout out to Dan who helped with the hot tub issues. Absolutely fantastic holiday!

Watersview is a real gem of a property, extremely clean and well equipped with everything you need for a lovely stay.

We took 2 dogs and 2 teenage children. Plenty of space for us all, with an enclosed garden for the dogs and run around communal field for all. It was such a lovely spot - with a beautiful walk around Rudyard Lake, the miniature Steam train runs along one side of the lake. There is paddle board groups and boat hire and newfoundlands train on the lake. Can recommend the sunday carvery at the Rudyard Hotel, and 2 Cafe's all within walking distance. There is a disused railway line walk to Leek too. The hot tub was amazing we were in it every night! A dog friendly area all round. Thank you Matt & Mark!

      Very clean, immaculate lodge.

The beds were comfy. Kitchen facilities were good. We took our dog with us and she had plenty of room around the lodge as did we. The hot tub was very clean and well maintained. We had a couple of visits from the owners just to check the hottub and refill chlorine tablets, we appreciate this as we know how maintaining a hot tub at a clean and safe standard can be hard if not kept on top of, we have had bad experiences with hot tubs in the past that are not checked every few days so these visits are essential and we were happy the owners did this
