What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mr Paul Grigas - Verified booking

there was no mention AT ALL that you was unable to park near the property, the directions led you to believe you could park outside or very near the property. NO mention at all that you needed to collect a scratch card to enable you to park in certain zones, no directions where to park your car to do this, we called to speak to someone as was not happy we needed to walk quite a distance with our luggage and had to wait nearly an hour for a response and then it was only via txt not even a courtesy call. we then received an apology for the lack of instructions, not the ideal way to start your holiday !! the website needs to state clearly the parking situation, especially if people are less mobile or have young children. If we had known we couldn't park outside our property we wouldnt have booked it. The outside very small courtyard with fake grass smelt (from previous dogs urinating we assume) it was so bad our dog wouldnt even go out there. The bed was very uncomfortable and the website photos certainly improve the look of the property. The outside terrace certainly would not have been an enjoyable small space to sit in surrounded by a high wall and buildings. All in all we have had much more enjoyable stays at other places.

Our recent week's stay at Foxglove, exceeded any expectations we might have had.

We were welcomed by Denise on arrival who explained everything. Denise was the most hospitable and friendly host we have ever had the fortune of meeting! The place was spotless, beautifully decorated and we even had a lovely hamper waiting for us too. Denise even took showed us her fabulous duck pond and all the chickens, cockerels and rabbits! What a lovely lady! We had the most fabulous relaxing week. The hot tub was 5* and we'd often watch the steam train trundle by in the valley below, then there were the visits from super friendly and funny Ozzy & Casper (the doggies) Gaz the cat and the 4 friendly white ducks on our doorstep a twice a day!! We cannot wait to revisit Foxglove. It truly was a very special place and a hidden gem. Great places to visit in Whitby too, thoroughly recommend the Park & Ride. Free parking and £2.60 per person return & 10 mins on the bus. We can honestly say, we arrived at Foxglove as guests, but left as friends. Special thanks to Christopher (Denise's son) for his kindness, always being on hand and checking the hot tub every day!

This is a lovely comfy lodge.

Just a couple of points that would take it to 5 stars Broadband would have been good, couldn’t get good signal on the phone either. It was great in some ways to be off the Net but I needed to check another ongoing booking, plus weather was very wet so I’d have liked to have been able to have watched a decent film in the evening. I was slightly concerned about the lack or recycling instructions. Everything in one bin into another one on the site. This needs addressing. Can’t imagine someone going through the big site bin. Finally the guy in the corner, who is a resident, is inconsiderate with noise. Notably his unnecessary loud music at 8 am some mornings. Given it was raining we didn’t sit outside. Had we done so it would have been intrusive. The Cabin was well appointed with new sofas. Great bathrooms. En suite is a small wet room. Great for myself with mobility issues, but not wheelchair wet room if anyone interprets it as such. I always take a shower seat.

I booked a weekend stay for my girlfriend’s birthday.

We were the first ever guests to stay at these glamping pods which was such an honour! The pod was immaculate and very spacious; there were fitted Bluetooth speakers and led lights, which were such a nice touch! The hot tub was perfect, private and was also cleaned and tested every morning. There were also complimentary extras like hot chocolate, biscuits and marshmallows etc. Considering being located in the middle of the Yorkshire Dales, the WiFi connection was also extremely fast. The owners are so lovely, helpful and very attentive. They went above and beyond, providing leaflets for local tourists attractions and recommended restaurants for us to visit. I would say that the fact we are still thinking about this place 7 months after visiting proves how memorable and incredible our stay here was. Thank you for the hospitality and we look forward to coming back very soon! From your first guests, Josh & Courtney

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Curlew!

The cabin was cosy, and modern, with such fab facilities. The shower was incredible, and we both slept amazing as the bed was so comfy! Both TVs allow you to sign into your subscription accounts which is great. The WiFi is super quick. The kitchen offers everything you could possibly need. The hot tub was fab, and we loved that there is already logs and firelighters provided for you to use for the fire outside. We visited the ‘station inn pub’ which is such a short walk from the cabin, and the walk en route was lovely, so quiet and beautiful. The only thing that we would suggest is with there being a hot tub, it would be great to have been offered dressing gowns and slippers. I know this is something you can bring yourself, but it would be a really nice touch. Overall would 100% recommend to anyone who is looking to escape from it all, and relax!
