In the quintessential Dorset Coastal village of Osmington sits this modern converted Lodge. Furnished to a high standard, Whitegates Lodge is a link detached property in lovely grounds shared with the owner's own home.

Guests have use of the lovely front garden with large lawn. Patio doors also lead out onto a gravelled area with a table and chairs where on warm summer evenings you can enjoy a relaxing drink. The property is accessed along a gated gravel driveway, tucked away just off the main village road in Osmington. The light, bright and clean decor gives a relaxed feel throughout the property. The living kitchen diner lends itself perfectly to socialising and relaxing together during your stay.

Only a short distance from the property is Craig's Farm Dairy, with tea room and farm shop, ideal for buying fresh milk, cheeses and lovleyl ice cream. A 5 mile drive will find you in the bustling seaside town of Weymouth, with a wealth of bars, restaurants, shops and activities, and not forgetting the three mile stretch of idyllic sandy beach, and host of traditional seaside entertainment during the summer months it is a great place to spend the day.

The South West Coast Path leads you to Osmington Mills, a beautiful coastal hamlet, known for its colourful history of smugglers, who reportedly took refuge in the local Inn, called The Smugglers Inn and which dates back to 13th Century. Also recommended ia a trip East to the unique and beautiful Lulworth Cove; spend the day on the sheltered shingle beach, or enjoy a meal at one of the local pubs or restaurants. An energetic walk from Lulworth Cove over to Durdle Door offers the perfect opportunity to admire the striking views over the Jurassic Coastline with its unusual geological formations.

Whitegates Lodge would suit a couple or young family wanting to explore the Dorset Coast line and country walks.

Osmington village, is situated on the Jurassic coastline of Dorset, just 6 miles from Weymouth wher you will find an glorious beach and historic harbour and just 11 miles from Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. Home to the famous Chalk hillside carving of George III on horseback, cut into the hillside to commemorate the Royal visits to Weymouth, this landmark can be seen from miles away. It is also the place that John Constable spent his honeymoon in 1816 and where he completed his painting of Weymouth Bay that now hangs in the National Gallery. The South West Coastal path runs through Osmington Mills, a tiny hamlet on the edge of Osmington. Here many walkers start their coast path walks at the Smugglers inn, where reputedly there are historic connections to smuggling. Be sure to visit to find out all the stories. A short drive will see you reach a local convenience store at Preston. Weymouth offers a larger variety of shopping, eating and entertainment choices.
