Guests are charmed by the Swiss Cottage's unique character, praising its peaceful woodland setting and tasteful decor. The property's cleanliness and warm ambiance are frequently commended, alongside its well-equipped kitchen and beautiful grounds. While some guests suggest improvements in comfort and facilities, the overall experience is one of tranquillity and satisfaction, with many eager to return.
The cottage is consistently described as clean and well-maintained, with guests noting its spotless condition upon arrival. The attention to cleanliness contributes significantly to the positive experiences reported.
The location is highly appreciated for its tranquillity and privacy, with guests enjoying the peaceful woodland surroundings. The proximity to local attractions and the ease of access to nearby towns also receive positive remarks.
While many guests find the cottage cosy and the beds comfortable, there are several comments about the furniture being low and difficult for older guests. The seating in the living room and the height of the beds are areas highlighted for improvement.
The property is well-equipped, particularly the kitchen, but guests have noted the lack of Wi-Fi, poor TV reception, and the absence of a DVD player despite DVDs being available. Some also mentioned the need for more practical items like a metal bucket for stove ashes.
While some guests suggest the inclusion of a welcome pack with essentials and the provision of fuel for the stove, there are no consistent references to gifts being provided or expected. Therefore, it's not possible to accurately score thoughtfulness based on the reviews provided.

Gated entrance. Loads of hot water in a powerful shower or bath. Loads of towels. We arrived a day later than planned. No heating for the first 2 nights so was very cold. The description on the website needs updating. There's no 4 poster bed and the couch is the most uncomfortable couch we have ever sat on. The noise in the downstairs bedroom when a tap is turned on or the toilet flushed is like a freight train. There's nowhere to put your clothes in the downstairs bedroom. No wardrobe or drawers. 4 plastic hangars on the back of the door is not good enough. No drawers or hangers in bedroom upstairs. No toilet roll holders. No towel rail or hooks in upstairs bathroom. A bit more cutlery so you don't have to wash them after every meal. No space in kitchen cupboards for food. These are all basic facilities that you would expect in any holiday home. The heating stopped working again for another day and night so we left a day early as it was too uncomfortable It's a shame really as the house and area are fabulous and the house was really clean. Lastly when we tried to put a wash on the washing machine was full of wet clothes and dryer was full of half dried clothes. This is not the first time as others have commented on it also. I'm not paying for my holiday and then doing somebody's laundry.

Luckily my brother in-law was able to find the number and we gained entry. The cottage is amazing, comfortable, private has everything we needed. Short walk to the shops and pub, Mohill has a good Chinese and other takeaways. There is also Lough Rynne Castle for food etc and carrick on shannon is 11km away. The only issue I had with the cottage was when we arrived the previous tenants bed linen and towels were all washed but waiting to be dried and put away. Which I did, but was not impressed. Otherwise amazing stay, people of Mohill are very friendly and the Guinness at OâBriens pub is the best served by the wonderful lady Phil and amazing Becky. We will be back
