Guests say

Squirrel Cottage is praised for its stunning views, cosy atmosphere, and beautiful garden. Guests appreciate its cleanliness, comfortable furnishings, and well-equipped kitchen. The location is ideal for outdoor activities and exploring the Lakes, with a pub within walking distance. Some guests mention parking challenges and early check-out times, but these are minor compared to the overall positive experiences.

Reviews consistently mention the property being spotless and well-presented, indicating high standards of cleanliness that contribute to guests' enjoyable stays.

The property's location is highly praised for its breathtaking views and proximity to leisure activities, making it a must-visit for outdoor enthusiasts. However, some guests found it slightly remote.

The majority of guests find the cottage comfortable, with a warm and cosy atmosphere. The master bedroom is particularly appreciated, though some minor comments about a noisy boiler and thin curtains in the twin room suggest slight room for improvement.

The cottage is well-equipped, with a special mention of the kitchen and utility 'shed'. However, guests have suggested improvements such as clearer recycling instructions, a new shower door, and better internet access instructions.

While guests have suggested that a welcome pack would be a nice touch, there is no consistent mention of gifts or thoughtful gestures provided during their stay, thus a score cannot be given.

The bed was very comfortable. The cottage was in a great location, with some amazing walks only a short drive away. We can recommend walking up the nearby Sale Fell for some incredible views from the top.

The view from the conservatory was second to none. We found it a lovely peaceful accommodation with beautiful walks nearby. Plenty to do for us as we like walking etc. I had a spa afternoon at the Armathwaite Hall hotel which was such a treat and my husband enjoyed golfing at the local golf course. We tended to buy local produce and eat in, we did have a meal in the pheasant which was good value for money and allowed dogs in which was a bonus. Highly recommended and hopefully we will return to squirrel cottage. Ps the parking is tricky next to the accommodation but we parked in the lay-by at the top of the hill and it was fine.
