Guests are overwhelmingly pleased with Striding Edge, frequently praising its immaculate cleanliness, stunning views, and excellent location. The cosy and well-equipped accommodation, including a hot tub, is highlighted as perfect for relaxation after exploring nearby attractions. The thoughtful touches, such as home-baked goods, contribute to the warm welcome, although these are not guaranteed for every stay.
Reviewers consistently mention the property's spotless condition, indicating a very high standard of cleanliness that contributes significantly to the comfort and enjoyment of their stay.
The property's location is highly praised for its tranquillity, breathtaking views, and proximity to local attractions and Keswick, making it an ideal base for exploring the Lake District.
The accommodation is described as cosy, warm, and well laid out, maximising space without feeling cluttered. The presence of a hot tub adds to the comfort level, although there was a minor issue with the hot tub controls.
Facilities are generally well-received, with guests appreciating the well-equipped pods and the added luxury of a hot tub. However, there was a mention of a lack of local information provided and an issue with lawn maintenance timing.
Many guests are delighted by the thoughtful gestures such as home-baked goods on arrival, which add a personal touch to their stay. It should be noted that such gestures, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every visit.
This cute pod is situated on a working sheep farm, surrounded by stunning picture-postcard countryside and fells. Springtime is a special time of year to visit when the lambs are a joy to watch! Threlkeld village, with its country pubs, cricket pavilion and golf course, is just 1 mile away. Keswick is 4 miles away, with a good selection of independent shops, restaurants and cafes; it is possible to use the old railway line to walk into the town. Annually, usually in May or June, Keswick holds the Mountain Festival, which is a three-day event with world-class sports, outdoor activities, talks and films with live music. Derwentwater is just 12 miles away and offers some great water sport activities, or, if you prefer a more relaxing day out, visit one of the local distilleries.
Entering the pod, you will find a spacious and bright open-plan layout, with a sofa on one side and a smart TV and kitchen area on the other. The kitchen is compact but well thought out, with a two-ring gas hob, microwave, toaster, and fridge with freezer compartment. To the back of the pod is the double bed and the bathroom which has a shower and WC.
The pod has planting outside and a private decking area to the entrance with seating, private hot tub and expansive views. Private parking for one car is available.
