East Havers is a well-received cottage, praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and well-kept garden, making it a hit with dog owners. Its proximity to amenities and the coast, alongside a cosy and well-equipped interior, contribute to a pleasant stay. While some guests noted issues with hot water and road noise, the overall experience is positive, with many expressing a desire to return.
The majority of guests found the cottage to be clean and well-maintained, with only a few mentioning areas ready for a deep clean or the presence of cobwebs and wildlife. The positive remarks on cleanliness far outweigh the negatives.
The location is generally appreciated for its convenience to shops, amenities, and coastal areas. However, some guests were disappointed with the proximity to the A1 and an industrial area, which affected the tranquillity expected of a holiday cottage.
Guests consistently describe the cottage as comfortable, with special mentions of cosy furnishings, comfortable mattresses, and a warm atmosphere. The garden adds to the comfort, especially for those with pets.
Facilities are deemed excellent by most, with a well-equipped kitchen and good bathroom facilities. Some guests noted a lack of hot water for baths and shortages in household essentials, suggesting room for improvement in maintenance and provisioning.
While many guests were delighted with welcome gifts such as wine, chocolates, and coffee, there is not enough information to determine if such gestures are consistent for all stays. Therefore, it is politely noted that such gifts, though appreciated, are not guaranteed.
Settled into the outskirts of the historic market town of Alnwick, East Havers is a stunning single-storey barn conversion which is ideal for a family of three or a couple looking for a Northumberland getaway. Be welcomed by the charming exterior of this property, a barn conversion with pretty sage windows and doors, and unpack with ease from an off-road parking spot. Settle down with a coffee into a lovely sitting room, featuring a TV, selection of stylish sofas, homely décor and a beautiful arched full-length window with a glass door, leading out onto an enclosed courtyard where you can relax with a glass of your favourite beverage in an evening. When mealtimes call, the kitchen/diner, sporting homely décor and ample amenities, will cater to your culinary needs, so why not cook up a storm from local produce? Two bedrooms with hints of lime and tasteful furniture house pretty wooden roof beams, including a king-size and a single, and there is a contemporary bathroom where you can enjoy a relaxing soak amongst the bubbles. Alnwick is a historic market town with so much on offer for guests, beginning with the fantastic range of eateries, as well as riverside walks through Hulne Park and RRH Brizlee Wood. Alnwick is probably best known for its amazing castle, so explore the local history with a trip to Alnwick Castle, and for a seaside day out, head over to Alnmouth where there is a pretty sandy beach. Further from the property you will find more coastal walks and another magnificent castle at Warkworth. Make a rural getaway to remember with a stay at East Havers.
The attractive and historic market town of Alnwick is dominated by Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland. The Castle Gardens, opened in 2002, are home to Europe's largest cascading water feature, a fabulous (and enormous) treehouse, a delightful rose garden and a beautiful, walled ornamental garden, which will delight novice and experienced gardeners alike. The castle is also famous as the setting for Hogwarts School featured in the Harry Potter films! The town's narrow streets have seen little change since the days when the London to Edinburgh stage coach passed through and the Market Place, with its stone cross, is still the central feature and the ideal venue for the weekly Saturday market. Alnwick offers a good selection of shops, pubs and places to eat and there is plenty to see and do, with miles of golden sandy beaches, numerous castles and boat trips to the famous Farne Islands all available nearby. Altogether a superb location for exploring Northumberland and its stunning Heritage Coastline.

The furnishings and rooms were clean and tidy. Beds were comfortable bathroom very good. Everything was catered for beautifully and nice and warm. The garden for the first time was very very secure and I did not worry about the fencing it was solid and high with no gaps. We were close to shops and restaurants and had the perfect base to visit all the local attractions. We had a great time. Also a special thanks to Chris for being so welcoming.

Cottage was comfortable and kitchen well equipped. Welcome pack was great, and the neighbours very friendly and helpful. Only improvement would be a stair gate to keep the dogs downstairs, and improved signposting / explanation of the correct set of bins for the cottage.
