This attractive and peaceful harbour village is situated beside one of the most beautiful stretches of Northumberland’s Heritage Coastline - Beadnell Bay. Established in Saxon times, Beadnell was once an important fishing village and a smuggler's haven. Nowadays, it is still a fishing village, but is equally popular with holidaymakers who come to enjoy its pretty harbour and, of course, the nearby sandy beaches. The village has a shop, two pubs and a café serving food. Popular Seahouses is just over a mile away and has shops, a supermarket and restaurants, and it also offers boat trips from the harbour to the magnificent Farne Islands - a haven for bird watchers. Bamburgh is close by, whilst the market town of Alnwick with its Castle and Gardens, shops, pubs and restaurants is a short drive away.

The accomodation was spacious and very well equipped. The reason we have given it a 3 star and not a 4 star was due to the acrid smell on the second floor which made for an overall unpleasant experience. We were called an hour before check in to say that there had been a leak and whilst the leak had been fixed, there was a stain on one of the bedroom ceilings. When we arrived the carpet in the top bedroom was wet through as was the ceiling of the room below. There was a very strong smell which got worse as the week went on. To such an extent that we had to sleep with the velux windows wide open each night. We were only able to do this as we were blessed with good weather, had it been raining, we would have been forced to close the windows and the smell room would have been unbearable. Such a shame as I think this would have been a very comfortable stay if it were not for the smell. We would advise to check this issue has been rectified before booking .

Overall we had very positive thoughts. The bathrooms have no illuminated mirrors over the wash basins and no shaver plugs making shaving very challenging. Quite unusual. There was no full- length mirror anywhere which my Wife and Daughter found difficult and dissapointing. The property is well placed for the beaches and local bars/ re#taurants.

So we knew the area, we have a dog and for us it's the walking we get to do, so the property apart from being very crtable and clean is very central to what we need, and a very short walk to the dog friendly beach
