Windy Edge Farmhouse dates back to 1906 and is a semi-detached old farmhouse. It is a lovely cosy 3 bed cottage situated 5 minutes’ walk from the beach, and a 10 minute walk to the pub, children's playground, shops and restaurants. It has one en-suite, one main bathroom and a downstairs cloakroom. The Kitchen diner has a big farmhouse table to comfortably seat 6-8 with a log burner in the corner and a sofa. The lounge has comfortable sofas, a log burner, flat screen TV, children's games and DVDs. Upstairs are 3 bedrooms; Bedroom 1 with double bed and a single bed with en-suite with shower, WC and basin and amazing views over the fields. Bedroom 2 with King size bed. Bedroom 3 with two single beds. All bedrooms also have black out blinds for that perfect lie in. Family bathroom with shower over bath, WC and basin The Windows look out onto the garden and open fields and is light and airy; the sea can be seen in the distance. The surrounding fields are full of sheep and cows who love to come and say hello.
Outside there is a massive south-west facing garden surrounded by a stone wall which then backs onto open fields and has a big outdoor dining table and chairs and a BBQ. Alternatively, just sit and enjoy the views of the Cheviots or wander through the gate at the bottom of the garden for a 5-minute walk across the field, through the caravan site and onto the beach.
Windy Edge Farmhouse is ideally placed in the middle of Beadnell green, accessed by a country lane off Swinhoe Road. It is ideally situated to feel like you are in the middle of the countryside whilst relaxing in the cottage and garden, but a wander across the field for 5 minutes takes you to the beach or 10 minute walk to the pub where you can relax.
This charming and tranquil harbour community is located next to Beadnell Bay, one of Northumberland's most stunning parts of the Heritage Coastline. Beadnell, which dates back to the Saxon era, was once a significant fishing community and a sanctuary for smugglers. Although though it is still a fishing community today, tourists often visit to take advantage of the charming harbour and, of course, the neighbouring sandy beaches. A shop, two pubs, and a café with meals are all present in the village. Little over a mile away, the well-known Seahouses offers restaurants, a supermarket, stores, and boat cruises to the lovely Farne Islands, a sanctuary for bird lovers. While Alnwick, a market town with a castle, gardens, shops, pubs, and restaurants, is only a short drive from Bamburgh, it is also close by.

The kitchen could do with a spring clean, under cupboards etc. Downstairs loo door is coming off its hinges. Two access hatches had fallen off. The toilets and basins are tight - had to sit sideways on the loo! Apart from that very comfortable. We have stayed in Beadnell many times and last came three years ago. The village needs to stop expanding now before the golden goose is killed. Windy Edge still surrounded by wildlife which is wonderful. Hope it stays that way.

What we got was very different the place is dirty there was dead flies on window ledges in every room cobwebs yes you do get them but not to this degree. I placed something on the dresser and it fell behind well I donât think thatâs been cleaned behind for months. The shower in en-suite is dirty and you canât open the door properly as it bangs on the sink. We left after two nights as we had so many bites on us and the small bed in main bedroom well someone needs to go lie on it I had to put a duvet on top on mattress and then cover me with another duvet to even get so comfort. And once you move the noise is so loud. So we left exhausted bitten and quite shocked at the state of it. No excuses for the dead flies as someone had been in with milk but then again not sure when as it was off.The kitchen utensils need checking can openers donât work one small frying pan thatâs seen better days plates cups chipped which shouldnât be left. I have photos of all the above.

Trouble with the washing machine was attended to immediately. The major difficulty came at the outset when directions provided were so confusing and unhelpful that we thought we would never find the cottage. The best directions for anyone coming from North or South would be to Beadnell Village past the church and the two hotels and right onto Swinhoe. We had to rely on the receptionist at the hotel; directions entered into the GPS system in the car landed us opposite the cottage looking over the field, with no idea how to get to it.
