What our customers say about their holidays

    • Jennifer - Verified booking

The cottage was beautiful however, due to a power cut 2 hours into our holiday we were without any electric, heating or phone connections for the whole 3 days!

!!! We have stayed at this property before, so we are aware that the owner only lives 3-4 minutes away, however they never bothered to check if we were ok. The whole of the village was without power, so they would have been aware. There was no torch or candles left and no wood for the log burner, which would have been the only form of heat we had, the temperature got down to minus 3. All of the food we had taken went off, due to having no electricity, so that was £75 worth of food gone!!! All we had was bread but nothing to put on it, as the butter had gone off!!! We were unable to call the people who had dropped us off to come and collect us, so we had no option but to stay until we were picked up 3 days later. All in all, it was an absolute disgrace and no offer of any kind of recompense!!!

There were 7 adults in the party, 3 couples plus one single person and a husky.

We found the Cheviot Hills and Wooler to be an excellent location for our different interests. We are walkers, birders, historians and shoppers and all found something to suit our tastes. The house was clean, warm, comfortable and plenty large enough with four good size bedrooms downstairs and 4 bathrooms ( 2 en suite). The kitchen was well equipped and the lounge and dining room easily large enough for all of us. It was a pleasure to sit out on the decking, and in the hot tub, with views over the town and of the surrounding hills. The town has a range of shops and food establishments that will cater for most needs. There was so much for us to see and do in the area. We would be happy to go back for another holiday there and do the things we didn’t have time for on this holiday.

We just got home from the most relaxing stay at most the most beutiful cottage at the most beautifull surroundings.

The pictures on the listing doesn't do it justice. The cottage is spacious and cosy and we had everything what we needed and more. On arrival we were greeted with kind and toughtfull gift - delicious local butter, honey, bread and milk and cold prosecco and beers. Every room is perfect , the beds are very comfortable and the hot tube takes the whole experince on another level. We loved the view from the garden and the piece, quite and calm surroundings .The cottage is suitable for all ages - it is all fenced and secure if you have young kids and it is all on one floor if you have older or strugguling with stairs members of the family. We loved the little library at the lounge and the alexa in the kitchen.Thank you for creating this amazing space , we will be back.

We absolutely loved our week in Driftwood. The house was gorgeous – really perfect for a family holiday. We loved relaxing in the hot tub and the views from the living room were amazing. Very sorry to be leaving and would absolutely love to return. I’ve found Coquet Cottages to be an exceptional company. I’ve been really pleased, thank you to Mike, Dionne and Andrea (plus Robyn the owner) for reaching out, it was really appreciated and shows what a great company you are. I can definitely say I won’t ever book with another company when holidaying again in this area – I just wish you weren’t just located solely in Northumberland.

A last minute booking and what a gem Spacious and comfortable.

Space for parking and dog friendly. Walking distance to Wooler high street with a well stocked Co-op and wonderful local shops and dog friendly pubs Italian restaurant close by with great reviews ( would have loved to have tried but not dog friendly) Close drives to the Northumberland coast. Loved the wood burner and the roof terrace was wonderful complete with BBQ. Plenty of space for 8 guests as advertised. Didn't want to leave but we'll be back in the summer to enjoy the roof terrace and those amazing views Loved to hear the church clock ringing the time on the hour ( not too loud to disturb you). Just loved it and thanks
