Guests say

Guests generally find the cottage in Morpeth comfortable, well-decorated, and conveniently located. The property is praised for its cleanliness, homely touches, and comfortable beds. While there are mentions of an ant problem in the kitchen, overall experiences suggest a pleasant stay with a few areas for improvement.

The property is frequently described as clean and spotless, with fresh decor and bed linen. However, some guests noted issues with ants and minor cleaning oversights, slightly affecting the overall perception of cleanliness.

The location is highly regarded for its proximity to local amenities, the harbour, and dining options. It is also considered a great base for walks and exploring the area, contributing to a positive experience.

Guests consistently mention the comfortable beds, sofas, and homely feel of the property. The comfort of the living spaces is a highlight, although some guests suggested improvements in the provision of charging points.

The property is well-equipped with essentials and praised for its kitchen and dining facilities. However, the recurring ant infestation and some maintenance issues, such as a broken toilet brush and a leaking kettle, indicate room for improvement in this category.

While guests appreciate the provision of tea bags, sugar, and other essentials, there is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

Amble, a bustling small harbour at the River Coquet's mouth, is a great starting point for exploring Northumberland. In addition to sandy beaches, a marina, a harbour, and coastal hikes to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and the national park at Druridge Bay, Amble, once a centre for boatbuilding, offers all of these amenities. A variety of fish, prawns, crabs, and lobsters are landed by the large fishing boats that are moored around the harbour wall. On the side of the harbour is a fish centre that sells local fish and is available to the public. It is currently mostly a shellfish hatchery to restock levels of lobster and other shellfish. Coquet Island, an rspb reserve with a sizable population of terns, puffins, and eider ducks, is located one mile south of Amble. Boat tours around the island can be booked. A short drive will take you to attractive Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, charming Warkworth with its castle, and the National Trust's Wallington Hall and Cragside, in addition to a number of excellent beaches and charming coastal villages.

It is so comfortable and well equipped. The location is ideal everything Amble has to offer is within easy walking distance. The hardest part of our stay there is having to leave!!!! We are looking forward to our next visit in 2025

Good size rooms and a good size yard for the area. A few negatives, the cooker took ages to cook anything , took 1 hour to do chips that should have took 15 minutes. So couldn't use it. And it was on a very noisy road , even through the night cars were zooming past . Obviously that can't he helped but if like us you are taking a dog and a baby might be too noisy.

Only a 3 night break but could easily have stayed longer. Great location for dog and walks from the door. Mostly ate out but house seemed to have everything you would need. Would have no hesitation in returning to same property.
