The Forge is a well-received holiday cottage in Northumberland, praised for its cleanliness, tasteful decoration, and well-equipped nature. Guests appreciate the welcome gifts and find the property to be a comfortable base for exploring the area, despite some concerns about noise and privacy due to its location. The property is dog-friendly, adding to its charm for pet owners.
Guests consistently mention that the cottage is very clean, well-maintained, and nicely decorated. There are a few isolated comments about mould in the shower, but these are not reflective of the overall feedback.
The location is generally appreciated for its proximity to local amenities and tourist attractions. However, some guests note the noise from traffic and lack of privacy due to the village setting, which affects the score.
The cottage is frequently described as comfortable and cosy, with a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. Some guests mention issues with appliances and noise which slightly impacts the comfort level.
While the cottage is praised for being well-equipped, there are recurring comments about the lack of instructions for appliances and an information pack. The absence of detailed reviews on specific facilities like the internet, heating, or entertainment options means a score cannot be accurately provided.
Many guests express gratitude for the welcome gifts, which include items like tea, coffee, wine, and chocolates. It's important to note that such gifts, while appreciated, are subject to change and not guaranteed for every stay.

However the only issues I experienced were when the village shop is open people are parking their cars directly outside the cottage gates which makes it very difficult to access the driveway. Also on the Friday a fish n chip van parked on the front and again this made accessing the driveway very difficult because of pedestrians and cars. You could also hear the engine running constantly from inside the cottage even without the windows/doors open.
