The spacious kitchen is sleek and stylish and is fully fitted with everything needed to whip up delicious food. Pull up a stool at the breakfast island, pour yourself a drink and keep the designated chef company. Adjoining the kitchen, is an elegant dining area with a rustic dining table and chairs all set up ready to host long, sociable meals together. Outside, there are extensive gardens to the rear which are just perfect for children (and any pets!) to run around safely while the adults can relax on the patio area and enjoy spending time alfresco. After all that fresh air, it’s time for bed so make your way to any of three wonderfully appointed super-king-size bedrooms, where you can sink into sumptuous beds and look forward to a relaxing sleep. Its link to the past continues with the village’s selection of antique shops and galleries and it also has a beach and a golf course. Attractions in the area worth visiting include Hadrian’s Wall, Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island, the Farne Islands and Alnwick Gardens. Other beaches nearby worth packing a bucket and spade for include Alnmouth, Cresswell, Embleton and Newton Haven. Lying in the loop of the River Coquet on the Heritage Coast, Warkworth is a picturesque village, dominated by the dramatic ruins of its 12th century castle. The history of the village and the castle are intertwined with the Percy Family who took over the castle in 1332. The Percys’ other home is nearby Alnwick Castle, most recently associated with Harry Potter as the film location of Hogwarts School. The main street is lined with Georgian and early Victorian houses and there is an exceptional range of galleries, antiques shops, a village shop/Post Office, pubs, restaurants and gift shops to suit all tastes. Warkworth has its own stretch of sandy beach and a 9 hole pay and play golf course. Also within easy touring distance are Hadrian’s Wall, Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island, the Farne Islands, several wonderful beaches and Alnwick Garden with its remarkable water cascade and Tree House Restaurant.
