The Belted Will, a quaint, 17th-century bar named after Lord William Howard of Naworth Castle, is well-liked by the townspeople and is known for its excellent food and helpful service. Also, Hallbankgate is home to a convenient grocery where vacationers may stock up on all of their needs. The settlement backs upon the nature reserve of rspb Geltsdale, where hikers and bikers can stroll through to their heart's content whilst observing the Cumbrian fauna.

An interesting historical plus was discovering the heritage of Tindale which at one time was the industrial working home of Stehenson's Rocket before it was saved for posterity.
