The issues described in previous reviews have been rectified with a new electrical fuse board, hob and oven fitted. Great location, just a few minutes to walk into central Bakewell. The accommodation is spotlessly clean and well maintained. Really well stocked with cutlery, crockery, glasses and cooking utensils. High end kitchen gadgets, e.g: Miele dishwasher and Miele coffee machine. We loved how the lounge, kitchen and diner were open plan enabling no one to miss out whilst cooking. All four of the bedrooms are a good size, and three clean bathrooms. Comfy mattresses with additional mattress toppers, crisps white sheets. We all slept really well! Our only feedback would be that the sofas aren’t particularly comfy (when compared to the luxury of the rest of the cottage). There are lots of extra cushions to make it comfier though. We would definitely return!

We had no heating for most of our week long stay and one day no hot water. The power tripped out regularly each day leaving us with no lights, until we could reset the fuse box. I would say at least 3-4 times daily! The property had a number of broken and faulty chairs and stools not fit for use, one even collapsed whilst in use leaving my husband on the floor. The doors were difficult to lock, the washing machine had leaked on the floor, the coffee machine did not work and the gas hob was dangerous. I’m not an expert but using an oven glove to turn off the gas as it would not shut off seems terrible to me! Shame as it’s a perfect location, great access to town and the countryside but would not revisit.

There was a note saying this would be fixed in June . We weren’t able to contact the owner initially resulting in my friend stuck in a dark house on his own hunting for the fuse box . - some of the dining room chairs are built incorrectly and so collapse - the bin lid doesn’t close - the seal around the cooker dangles down - didn’t use the coffee machine so can’t comment
