Guests say

East Bank Cottage is a quaint and traditional property in the picturesque village of Winster, appreciated for its peaceful location and proximity to local amenities and walks. Guests have enjoyed the spacious bedrooms, generous bathroom, and the welcome treats. The village's friendly community and scenic surroundings add to the charm of the stay.

Reviews on cleanliness are mixed, with some guests finding the cottage dusty and kitchenware unwashed, while others had no cleanliness issues. The variance in experiences suggests that cleanliness is generally satisfactory but with room for improvement.

The cottage is praised for its great location in a beautiful village with good walks and local amenities. The peaceful and picturesque setting is consistently appreciated, although parking can be challenging.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, mentioning the spacious bedrooms, comfortable beds, and a large bathroom. One guest noted the steep stairs could be challenging for some, but overall, the comfort level is high.

Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and a nice garden, though some guests reported maintenance issues like a leaky shower. The presence of outdated food items and a missing fireplace also suggest a need for better upkeep.

The provision of welcome treats, including biscuits and dog treats, indicates thoughtfulness. However, as these gifts may vary and are not guaranteed for every stay, they should be considered a delightful bonus rather than an expectation.

Everything you need for a few days away. As a family of 4 with a dog we really enjoyed our stay. The village of Winster is stunning and so peaceful to just walk round and explore. Tom the owner sent all information through and messaged during the stay to check we were settled. The one thing that was missing, particularly as Autumn approaches is a fire. It's been taken out so drying clothes, even on the maiden was tricky. There are lots of blankets to snuggle up in so it's warm and cosy... just the drying of clothes was tricky. There's ample hot water and the cottage is well stocked with everything you could need ! We loved the cottage and would definitely book again.

Surrounded by many nice countryside walks. 15 mins drive to Sainsbury's. The only down side is the garden that you need to get out of the front door, walk up 4 steps and a steep little path. Not ideal with our dogs and don't feel private, but it's simply a personal preference. Would recommend it to anyone who would like a peaceful stay.

The patio and garden are a lovely additional space, but due to the weather we were only able to use it on the day of our arrival. The owner was very responsive for any issues you needed help with, which is always good to know. The village itself is really quaint, and full of older properties, with lots of little lanes to investigate. The abundance of flowers everywhere, it was very pretty indeed. We love this part of Derebyshire and know we will be returning.
