Cider Press Cottage in Somerset receives high praise for its idyllic rural setting, cosy and comfortable ambiance, and welcoming hosts. Guests consistently mention the cleanliness, the fully equipped nature of the cottage, and the thoughtful touches like homemade cakes. The village's friendly atmosphere and local pub add to the charm, with easy access to Bath and surrounding areas for sightseeing.
Guests frequently commend the cottage for its spotless presentation and consider it one of the cleanest stays. One review mentioned unclean utensils, but this seems an isolated incident against the backdrop of overall excellent feedback.
The location is highly appreciated for its beauty and convenience for dog walking, sightseeing, and proximity to Bath. The rural village setting is peaceful, with one review noting the lack of bus service but good access to park and ride.
The majority of guests find the beds very comfortable and the cottage cosy. However, a few guests found the sofas less comfortable, which slightly impacts the overall comfort score.
The cottage is praised for being well-equipped and warm, with a special mention of the kitchen's adequacy for a Christmas dinner. One review cited issues with worn-out sofas and woodlice, suggesting some areas could benefit from attention.
While many reviews express gratitude for the homemade cakes and warm welcomes, as gifts are not consistently mentioned across all reviews, it cannot be guaranteed that such gestures are a standard offering for all guests.
Cider Press Cottage is an absolute gem of a holiday property and we're delighted to see it undergo a total revamp in early 2015, making it a stylish, spacious country retreat about 10 - 15 mins from the centre of Bath. Built in the 18th century and situated in the grounds of the owners beautiful home, this classic little cottage is every inch the rural retreat. The cottage is detached yet literally just moments from open countryside, with a lovely stroll down the lane to the village and it's local pub, The Ring O'Bells. Each time we visit this cottage we love it even more, for so many different reasons, and the recent update has given it a real lift.
Internally the light colours along with the tasteful furniture give it a real contemporary feel, while all the old period features ensure the charm and character remain within this charming bolt hole. The location of the property is absolutely ideal, a short drive into Bath city centre or a short walk deep into the countryside give this an appeal which sets it apart from so many cottages. This is an absolute belter!

... oh and the pub is pretty wonderful too ! Comfortable , and in a great location both for Priston Mill for weddings , and to Bath . Will visit again.

So convenient for the park and ride in to Bath. Very welcoming owners and villagers. We especially enjoyed the lemon drizzle cake and steak night at the Ring O Bellls in the village. We found the beds very comfy but the sofas unfortunately not. As urban dwellers we appreciated the silence and the peaceful countryside location but found driving round the narrow country lanes that access Priston rather stressful,

. Quiet location and perfect for exploring Bath, cheddar & Glastonbury. Only one small comment, the sofa cushions are a bit thin but otherwise lovely place.
