Snaptrip says

Guests consistently praise the lodge for its cleanliness, stunning views, and peaceful setting. The warm welcome from hosts Kirsty and John, along with homely touches like cream teas, contribute to a delightful stay. The hot tub and nature walks are popular, and while the remote location means a drive to activities, it adds to the tranquility. Some guests suggest improvements in waste management and outdoor furniture.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Reviewers frequently mention the cleanliness of the lodge, describing it as spotless and well-maintained, which indicates a high standard of cleanliness throughout the property.

The location is celebrated for its tranquility and beautiful views, though it is noted as remote, requiring driving to access local attractions. The proximity to nature trails and cycling paths adds to its appeal.

Comfort is highlighted with mentions of cosy cabins, comfortable beds, and the addition of a private hot tub. The peaceful environment contributes to the overall comfort of the stay.

Facilities like the hot tub, nature walks, and lakes are appreciated, though some guests mention a desire for better outdoor furniture and more towels. The slow WiFi is noted, but the unique setting compensates for these minor issues.

The hosts' thoughtfulness is evident in the personal touches such as cream teas on arrival and dog treats. While these gestures are highly appreciated, it is politely noted that such gifts are subject to availability and not guaranteed.

About this property

For a family seeking fun and adventure on holiday, a stay at this contemporary and spacious dog-friendly lodge offers it all. Set within a large quarry, the two private spectacular lakes boast a variety of outdoor pursuits including diving and wild swimming. Walkers and cyclists are also well catered for as within a mile is the start of the famous Camel Trail taking you through the moors and countryside along a disused railway line all the way to Padstow. After the thrill and excitement of a day on the moors or enjoying the exhilarating lakes, relax in the private hot tub directly outside the lodge before returning to the lodge, or gather your loved ones for a barbecue. The lodge is both spacious and comfortable with an open-plan living room, well-equipped kitchen and cosy dining and sitting areas. When it comes to dining out, within two miles you have two of the finest moorland pubs in Cornwall. Close by in the village is the award-winning Old Inn, dating back to the 11th century with homely dog-friendly bars and huge roaring log fires in the winter. A little further is the Blisland Inn famous for providing the finest range of real ale in the County and is a former national CAMRA pub of the year. With so much to do and see in the immediate area, you could well spend your entire holiday here but you are in a good central location for touring Cornwall if you decide to venture further afield. A perfect base for an action-packed holiday whatever time of year. This property can be booked with Tressa and Mellyone Beder Del (Melly) together they sleep 23.

St Breward is a modest village resting within the countryside lands of Cornwall. Within the village you can find a local shop for last-minute amenities, a pub, village hall, church and two playgrounds to entertain the little ones, not forgetting wonderful walking routes all around. Nearby you can find attractions such as Bodmin Jail, Bodmin Moor, the Eden Project and Falmouth's National Maritime Museum, or venture into Padstow to find famous pubs and restaurants of all kinds.

I think the Tor Down Quarry sign board must be bigger at the entrance, and access to the lake was too bushy. Otherwise I will recommend the place to friends, we loved it there and will be back
