Guests say

Chantry Lodge in Cornwall receives high praise for its cleanliness, stunning views, and peaceful location. Guests appreciate the well-equipped lodge, including a hot tub and modern amenities like Netflix and powerful showers. The property is dog-friendly, with a convenient dog walking field nearby. While some minor discomforts with mattresses and evening entertainment noise were mentioned, the overall experience is one of relaxation and enjoyment, with many looking to return.

Guests consistently note the lodge's cleanliness, describing it as 'spotless' and 'faultless'. The high standard of cleanliness contributes significantly to the comfort and enjoyment of their stay.

The lodge's location is praised for its quietness and proximity to local attractions and beaches. While some guests expected a sea view that was not present, the location still offers great views and is well-positioned for exploring Cornwall.

Comfort is highly rated, with guests enjoying the lodge's amenities and the hot tub. However, there are a few mentions of uncomfortable mattresses and a desire for better quality bedding, slightly affecting the score.

Facilities like the hot tub, dog walking field, and modern appliances are appreciated. Criticisms include limited pool hours and a desire for a washing line, but overall, maintenance is good with daily hot tub checks.

The owner's thoughtfulness is evident from welcome gifts and useful information provided. While these gestures are warmly received, it's important to note that such personal touches, although delightful, may vary and are not guaranteed.

About this property

Chantry Lodge is settled on Newperran Holiday Park in the Cornish village of Hendra Croft. With a hot tub to admire the sea-views, a stylish open-plan living space and well-positioned for amenities, this two-bedroom lodge welcomes both families and friends. This pet-friendly holiday home offers off-road parking for two cars and a large warp-around decking to dine alfresco on balmy evenings. Enter the open-plan living space, where you can unwind on the corner sofa, enjoy mealtimes together at the dining table and catch-up on shows on the wall-mounted TV. The contemporary, matte-black kitchen has everything you need for a self-catered stay, such as a range master cooker to prepare home-cooked meals. Patio doors lead out to the decking; here you can melt your stresses away in the hot tub or savour a glass of wine on the furniture. As the evening winds to an end, retire inside and choose between two light and airy bedrooms, a double with an en-suite and a twin bedroom, both with TVs. Prepare for the day ahead in the shower room before sipping a morning coffee on the decking. Opposite the property is a large field for the dogs to enjoy and let off some steam. A short walk will lead you to your amenities with a restaurant for dining out, a pub for a refreshing pint and a supermarket for when you're running low on the essentials. Also on site is a swimming pool to enjoy. The lodge is close the beach and days out can be enjoyed at Holywell Bay. Venture into Perranporth, a quaint coastal town that is home to some of the region's most beautiful beaches and stunning coastal scenery. The town is a popular spot for surfing, swimming, and fishing, and is also known for its nightlife and lovely old-world charm. The vibrant town of Newquay is also worth a trip, with Newquay Zoo, a great place to visit for animal lovers of all ages, and Porth Beach for a day of relaxing by the sea. For those who enjoy exploring historic buildings, the National Trust - Trerice is must-see. For a coastal break to Cornwall, choose Chantry Lodge.

Goonhavern is a small Cornish village just 2.5 miles inland from Perranporth, the setting for Winston Graham's Poldark novels. Goonhavern has an inn, village shop, garden centre, and playground. The community, once known for its tin, still has abandoned pump houses, mine shafts, and workers' cottages. Perranporth has a three-mile-long sandy beach and craggy rocks for rock pooling. In summer, the beach is lifeguarded and hosts the British National Surfing Championships. Perranporth has a small selection of shops, restaurants, and pubs, including The Watering Hole, a beachfront pub with live entertainment, good food, and a stunning sunset view. Blue Hills Museum and Perranzabuloe Folk Museum are both worth visiting to learn about the area's heritage.

Hot tub not really suitable for 4 adults. Badly needs a new rug in sitting room. Would benefit from water absorbent mat at the entrance from the hot tub to save the carpet, we had to use a mat from the bathroom.

A lovely spacious lodge with hot tub and everything we needed. The dog walking area was opposite and ideal to let our dog have a run around. The hot tub was maintained each day. The only issue I found was I couldn't see that there was a washing line outside so couldn't use the washing machine.

We took extra things with us that we didn’t need such as, tea towel, condiments coffee, tea and sugar which were already there. The only negative we had was the site itself, no shop onsite it was pretty basic. But if you are happy to drive out every day the beaches are close by and Newquay town.
