Guests say

The Beach Hut in Polzeath is a spacious and well-equipped property, appreciated for its proximity to the beach and ample social space. Guests have enjoyed the comfortable accommodation and the prompt maintenance service. Some attention to detail in outdoor areas and furnishings would enhance the experience.

Guests have reported issues with cleanliness, including the presence of pet hair and a worn stairway carpet. However, the main living area was found to be nice, and a broken blind was promptly fixed.

The property's location is highly praised for its convenience to the beach and the benefit of free off-street parking. The location is considered great for families and provides easy access to local amenities.

The property is generally found to be comfortable, with ample space and a large social area. However, some guests mentioned issues with bedroom windows, inefficient heating, and uncomfortable mattresses.

Facilities are well-regarded, with a well-equipped property and prompt repairs. However, there are concerns about maintenance, such as inefficient tumble dryers, damaged dining chairs, and flaking paint in bathrooms.

While some guests mentioned the lack of welcome gifts such as cream tea or basic provisions upon arrival, there is not enough consistent information across reviews to accurately score thoughtfulness. It is noted that such gestures are appreciated but not guaranteed.

About this property

The Beach Hut is a contemporary, coastal holiday home located in the Pinewood development in the centre of Polzeath, North Cornwall. This self-catering house is a stylish, light-filled home arranged over three floors and furnished for relaxed beach-side living for up to eight guests. The Beach Hut benefits from two dedicated parking spaces in the underground car park, sought-after in the area, a balcony with bi-fold glass doors to let in the sea air and an enclosed, private decked terrace for alfresco dining; pets are also welcomed by prior arrangement. The ground floor has a spacious, open-plan kitchen/dining room/lounge with bi-fold doors onto the balcony, with warm wooden flooring and a sleek well-equipped kitchen. The first floor has a super-king-size bedroom with en-suite bath/shower room, a twin room where the beds are zip and link, so can be converted to another super-king-size, and a further bunk room. The lower ground floor has a king-size bedroom with a wet room/shower/WC; all the rooms are bright and thoughtfully furnished with style and convenience in mind, for an enjoyable stay. Pinewood benefits from 2-acres of communal grounds which provide panoramic views of Polzeath beach and a private footpath straight down to the beach, shops, and restaurants. Coronation Gardens offer tennis courts, crazy golf, bungee trampoline, a bouncy castle, and there is an indoor skateboard ramp at the Tubestation café. For sailing enthusiasts, the nearby Camel Estuary is a car journey away with dinghy hire and tuition. From the Camel Ski School above the pontoon in Rock, you can sign up for wakeboarding or a thrilling inflatable ride, whilst paddleboarding is becoming increasingly popular here, and is a gentle and surprisingly easy way of gliding along the river in and out of the boat moorings. Enjoy the seascapes of The Beach Hut at your next getaway.

The seaside village of Polzeath boasts a sandy beach, which is bordered by rock pools and is acclaimed to be one of the best surfing beaches in the country. Polzeath itself has a number of small shops, cafes and restaurants, and the South West Coast Path, a 630-mile route, runs through the village. Just over seven miles away is the popular market town of Wadebridge, which is set alongside the River Camel and offers an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as North Cornwall's only family-owned cinema. There’s wonderful countryside in the area, with the renowned Camel Trail passing through the town, and the nearby town of Padstow, with its harbour, pastel-washed medieval houses and celebrated restaurants is well worth exploring. Within driving distance is the UK surfing capital of Newquay, with over 11 miles of golden sandy beaches. Polzeath is an excellent base for exploring this part of Cornwall.

Idea to walk to the beach. We had a problem with the dining chairs, legs falling off, the maintence team took 2 of the chairs away to repair, unfortunately they didnt return them. Overall all though, a great and enjoyable house for a large family.

Disappointing that upon arrival there were no basics such as loo roll (I wouldn’t expect this to be provided for the entire stay but some would have been nice!) The window in the master bedroom wouldn’t close so the bedroom was freezing cold at night. The shower controls constantly came off the walls - Not great when you are bathing a new born baby and it nearly falls on their head. Mattress in the downstairs bedroom is incredibly uncomfortable. Paint in the bathrooms is flaking off all of the walls and the skirting is warped/mouldy and coming off the walls. Garden is very unloved and wouldn’t be somewhere pleasant to sit and eat outside.
