Trevian in Rock, Cornwall, is a spacious and well-equipped cottage that has received praise for its comfort, enclosed garden, and thoughtful touches like a welcome pack. While most guests have enjoyed their stay, some have raised concerns about cleanliness and maintenance.
Cleanliness has been a point of contention among guests. While some found the property clean and comfortable, others reported issues with dog hair, dust, and general upkeep. The negative experiences seem to be exceptions rather than the rule, but they do impact the overall impression.
The location of Trevian is highly praised, with its proximity to local shops, the beach, and dining options. Guests have enjoyed the convenience and the opportunities for sightseeing and walks in the area.
Guests have found the property to be comfortable, with spacious rooms and a welcoming atmosphere. The garden is appreciated for both children and dogs, adding to the comfort of the stay.
The facilities at Trevian are generally well-regarded, with a fully enclosed garden and a utility room for added convenience. However, some guests feel that the property requires maintenance and a refresh in decor, which suggests room for improvement.
The welcome pack has been mentioned positively in reviews, indicating a level of thoughtfulness. However, it should be noted that such gestures, while appreciated, may not be a consistent offering for all stays.
Trevian is an attractive holiday home located in the heart of Rock, Cornwall, just a short walk from the excellent shops and services of the village and a quick journey to the beautiful, local beaches. The property has a charming, open-plan kitchen/diner leading into a conservatory; this lovely, light sitting room looks out onto a large level lawn, perfect for garden games, whilst a generous driveway rests to the front, with plenty of space for vehicles and boat trailers. Ideally suited to families, Trevian sleeps six guests across three bedrooms, one of which is a bunk room, ideal for children. The country-style kitchen is very attractive and well-equipped; a lovely space to whip up some scones for a Cornish cream tea or a simple lunch with fresh fish from the fishmongers nearby; a utility room and shower room are accessed externally; so useful for rinsing off the salt after a dip in the sea and the ideal place to leave wetsuits to dry. Perfectly positioned to take advantage of all the attractions of North Cornwall, a holiday here in Rock ticks the boxes for all the family. Follow the footpath nearby to enjoy a beautiful stroll across the fields down to Porthilly cove and to Rock beach beyond. Sailors, water-skiers and paddleboarders will be kept busy exploring the Camel Estuary; equipment and lessons can be booked at Rock waterfront. Keen and budding surfers should head to Polzeath beach to immerse themselves in surfing vibes and the white waters of this popular beach resort; afterwards satisfy hunger pangs at one of the many great cafes and restaurants; try Masterchef winner James Nathan at the St Enodoc Hotel; visit Nathan Outlaw in Port Isaac or, of course, Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant or Bistro just across the estuary in Padstow. Experience a Cornish escape at Trevian.

There were just a few very minor things, which didn't detract from the stay, but would have made it 5*. There were soooooo many cobwebs We live in a 500 year old farmhouse, so we are used to them, but in the bedrooms and particularly the main bedroom, the cobwebs hanging down from the pictures and in the corners were huge. The same in the kitchen, under the plate rack. Just generally it all looked like the house could do with a good dust and vacuum (I did vacuum the cobwebs in the bedroom as they were hanging over the bed!) also the fridge drainage hole was blocked and froze all our food - my husband cleared it and it was then OK. Finally, the kitchen knives could do with a sharpen. So as you see, absolutely nothing major, it is a lovely house and we would love to stay there again. Just hope that the Charlotte's Web theme is less apparent next time. :-)

And central location for sightseeing further afield. Comfortable beds and friendly atmosphere. As dogs are restricted to the ground floor (not mentioned in the property details) it would be nice to have a tv in the conservatory. Side gate is too low to be safe for a dog friendly property as easily jumped over. Looked clean overall, but had sweet wrappers in the log basket, and when I wiped the mantle piece in the front bedroom it was black. Toilet did not look as though it had been cleaned on arrival and the floor in there was dirty. Iâm not sure when the dog beds ( nice to be supplied although we used are own) were last cleaned. The cutlery drawers in the free standing unit were extremely stiff. Overall a great holiday property. Maybe if more cleaning materials were supplied the cleanliness would be higher. We would return but only if dogs were allowed upstairs

. also lovely & dog friendly with the beautiful enclosed rear garden . Thank you for the lovely Cornish welcome pack , much appreciated . I will be back ! If i could change anything here it would be to have more private side gates to 6ft at the side instead of the small ones on site as if a dog did get out that road can get very busy .
