The Cosy Cowshed in Devon is highly praised for its idyllic setting, stunning views, and cleanliness. Guests appreciate the peaceful location, modern amenities, and the property's overall comfort. While some minor maintenance issues and suggestions for improvements are noted, the positive experiences, including the thoughtful touches like a welcome bottle of wine, contribute to its charm. The property's proximity to local attractions and the quality of the furnishings are frequently commended.
Reviews consistently mention that the property is very clean, with several guests highlighting its cleanliness as a joy. However, a few guests noted cobwebs and a potential issue with smelly drains, slightly affecting the overall impression.
The location is described as beautiful, rural, peaceful, and ideal for exploring the Devonshire and Dorset area. The proximity to local towns and attractions is appreciated. Some concerns about overgrown hedges and nettles affecting access were mentioned.
Guests find the property comfortable, with special mentions of the quality beds and walk-in showers. The tranquil environment contributes to the comfort level. Suggestions for more comfortable lounge furniture and lighter-weight duvets during hot weather were made.
The property is well-equipped with modern fittings and an eco-friendly heating system. Guests enjoyed the views and the enclosed garden. Points were deducted for minor maintenance issues like the entrance gate, patio furniture, and a suggestion for a grab handle in the shower for safety.
While guests have mentioned thoughtful gestures such as a bottle of local wine, there are not enough reviews referencing consistent thoughtful touches to accurately score this category. Therefore, it is important to note that such gestures, while appreciated, are not guaranteed.

We only stayed for 4 nights, but came home so relaxed. To the owners and the team who care for The Cosy Cow Shed THANK YOU.

The location is peaceful with far reaching views from the large patio and plenty of parking for our 2 cars. The property is clean, modern and well equipped. There is a good size enclosed garden for a dog to run around in, but this is not totally escape proof due to gaps in the hedge and wire fencing that doesn't go tight to the ground. There was a strong smell of drains in one of the bathrooms and its adjoining bedroom. This isn't as noticeable if the roof windows are left open all the time, but as they are self closing when it rains, it's impossible to do that. The extractor fan has been removed in that bathroom for some reason so that doesn't help. An air freshener is definitely needed! The other comment I would like to make is about the 5 bar gate. It needs adjustment as it's awkward to open and close as its heavy to lift into place. I mentioned this last year but it's still the same!

The Cosy Cowshed is well equiped, quiet and comfortable, in a lovely part of East Devon. I'd recommend to people staying there, to use the Sheppards Knap/Andrewshayes Lane road to access the A35, rather than Loughwood Lane as the later is a tighter lane and has an awkward access to the A35. Sheppards Knap is a much nicer drive and is a better access point to the A35. Thanks again to the owner for helping me find my phone when it went missing (it had ended up in a laundry bag) which they helped me find when they arrived shortly after I was due to leave on my departure day.
