Within a short walk of the idyllic rural village of Butterleigh near Silverton in Devon, Woodpecker Lodge is an immaculately-presented holiday lodge which is perfect for a family holiday or for couples travelling together. The property is situated on an 80 acre working family farm which has been in the same family for three generations and depending on what time of year you visit, you'll be able to observe farming life at close hand; March and April are great times to visit when lambing season is in full swing! Your holiday begins as soon as you park up in the ample off-road parking area and breathe in the fresh Devon air and take in the captivating countryside views. Unload your bags with ease, walk into this beautiful property, kick off your shoes and make the most of the underfloor heating. The open-plan living space creates a truly welcoming ambience with a good-sized sitting area housing a stylish corner sofa positioned in front of the Smart TV and patio doors boasting stunning rural views so you won’t be short of things to look at! The designated chef will be delighted with the sleek, contemporary kitchen which is fully fitted with everything needed to create delicious food for the whole family. Pull up a stool at the breakfast bar, pour yourself a drink and keep the chef company, before taking a seat at the large dining table. If the glorious Devon sun is shining then step outside onto the wraparound decking and enjoy some time alfresco, watching the sun go down over the countryside and really getting into the holiday vibe. All that fresh air will have tired everyone out so choose from either the super-king or twin bedrooms which both have patio doors leading outside and both of which are elegantly presented. With an en-suite bathroom to the master bedroom and a family shower room, there’s no need to worry about queuing for the bathroom in the morning. Enjoy walks and hikes in the surrounding countryside or head into the nearby village of Silverton and the town of Tiverton which both offer a taste of a quintessential English life with traditional pubs, independent shops and historical buildings to admire including Tiverton Castle and Tiverton Museum as well as the Grand Western Canal with it's horse-drawn barges. Family attractions to enjoy in the local area include Wildwood Escot, Yarak Birds of Prey, Devon Railway Centre, and the Bear Trail in Cullompton. The pretty village of Butterleigh is within walking distance and the Butterleigh Inn is a popular choice for a meal out or an evening tipple.
