Guests say

Guests consistently praise Eastcott Farmhouse for its charm, spaciousness, and well-equipped kitchen. The property's garden is a hit with children, and its location offers a peaceful country retreat within driving distance of beaches and towns. The host, David, receives commendations for his helpfulness and the friendly pub next door adds to the experience. Some minor concerns about cleanliness and maintenance are noted, but overall, guests report a very enjoyable stay.

Most guests found the farmhouse to be clean and well-kept, with only a few isolated comments about crumbs and worktop cleanliness. The high standards mentioned suggest that cleanliness is generally maintained to a good level.

The location is appreciated for its tranquility and proximity to beaches and local attractions, though some guests noted the rural setting means a drive is necessary for dining and shopping. The peacefulness and beauty of the area are highlighted.

The farmhouse is described as comfortable, with a special mention of the cool interior during hot weather and comfortable beds. The spacious kitchen and dining area are well-received for family gatherings.

Facilities are generally good, with a well-equipped kitchen and ample space. However, there are comments about the need for better maintenance of the garden area and some issues with shower temperature and internet reception.

While the reviews reflect a positive experience with the host's helpfulness and the provision of information, there is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches that would warrant a score in this category.

. David is a great host

  • David

The large flagstones in the entrance and kitchen dinner were lovely. The furniture in the lounge was dated but exactly as on the Web page. The white goods were OK. There were lots of little things that needed to be seen to. Not enough mugs, small glasses, forks, only a huge frying pan, so annoying after a couple of days. The bedrooms, the twin room bathroom was so small it was unusable. The bedding and towels were so rough we used our beach towels. Now the outside a white table with three chairs all in need of a good wash, a wooden table with benches that needed a good scrub and a coat of varnish two ashtrays still full on the window ledges, weeds growing in the flagstones. General untidiness. So only used as a way to the washing line. On the positive side the lawn had been mowed. I will not comment on the spiders or fly's as this is a very old property and is to be expected to some degree. We enjoyed the pub, parking was fine. This property just needs more attention to the small details inside and rather more to the rear garden area.

We had a great time and accommodation suited the whole family. David was the perfect host and gave us a lot of ideas of places to go and made us feel very welcome. Pub was very friendly and we met a lot of really nice people.
