Sunset View in Portland offers stunning views and a comfortable stay with well-appointed interiors, luxury touches, and excellent positioning for local attractions. While the apartment's cleanliness and external maintenance received mixed feedback, the internal comfort and amenities generally met guests' expectations.
Reviews indicate a disparity in cleanliness experiences, with some guests finding the apartment very clean, while others reported it as filthy with dirty communal areas. The inconsistency leads to a below-average score.
The location is praised for its stunning views and proximity to local attractions like the marina and watersports centre. However, noise from nearby transportation and a heliport slightly detracts from the experience.
Guests have found the beds comfortable and the apartment well-furnished, contributing to a pleasant stay. Some minor issues like TV placement and parking limitations are noted.
Facilities like the pool add value, but maintenance issues with the building's exterior and apartment fixtures like baking trays and can openers affect the score. The apartment's amenities are satisfactory but require attention.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts, therefore this category cannot be scored.

We spent alot of time watching the activities around the marina and heliport, and awesome displays of kite, wind and wing boarding at the nearby watersports centre. Unusually there was no contact with the owners, however we must say that the apartment itself is very clean, comfortable and welcoming, which certainly helped us achieve a relaxing break re-charging our batteries

Extremely comfortable, great location and amazing views

The apartment also had a sweaty odour. The communal areas were also filthy and smelly. The second issue was that the ensuite toilet did not flush properly. The third issue was that I was being bitten in the night (and at no other time so it was something in the bed). I wasted more than half of my holiday waiting for cleaners, maintenance and pest people and none of the issues were fully resolved. The Sykes call handlers had zero empathy or willingness to help. When you spend £1000, you expect better than this. In fact, I considered moving after the first day and saw much nicer properties on Airbnb for the same money. My holiday has been ruined and I would like compensation.
