Gordon's View is a well-regarded cottage in Gloucestershire, praised for its stunning views, cleanliness, and comfort. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches, such as flowers and tea on arrival, and the well-equipped kitchen. The location is ideal for exploring the Forest of Dean and enjoying countryside walks. While most reviews are positive, a few mention minor maintenance issues and the steepness of the property's stairs.
The majority of guests have reported the cottage to be spotless and very clean, with only a single review mentioning cobwebs and dust, which seems to be an isolated incident.
The location is frequently described as excellent, with beautiful views and good access to local attractions. However, one review mentioned traffic noise, which suggests the location may not be perfectly serene for all.
Guests find the cottage comfortable, noting the summer-weight duvet and the comfortable layout. There is a single mention of an uncomfortable bed, but this appears to be an exception.
Facilities are generally well-received, with mentions of a well-equipped kitchen and good WiFi. Some reviews, however, point out maintenance issues and challenges with the steep stairs and refuse bins.
Many reviews express gratitude for considerate touches like tea, coffee, milk, and flowers on arrival. While these gifts are appreciated, they are not guaranteed for every stay.

Very comfortable and relaxing.
Gordon
The cottage had everything we needed, was comfortable inside and also had a lovely outdoor patio area and garden. The upstairs lounge area in particular was comfortable, light and airy - an ideal place to relax after the day's activities

The cottage and garden are set on a steep sloping site with views over the Severn valley. from within the property and also from the rear garden. Lives up to its name of Gordons View. The cottage is a lot bigger than it appears online. The off road parking is a layby opposite the cottage entrance shared with next door. The cottage is accessed up steps from the road. Easy access to Forest of Dean by car or by good bus services in Little Dean and Newnham. Local eating we would recommend the Belfry Hotel in Little Dean. The village has a small general food shop and popular chip shop. Newnham also has a food shop and cafe
