About this property

A house party needs a venue that encourages socialising yet allows people to retreat to their private space when they need to rest. Tone Dale House fits the bill perfectly. This elegant Georgian manor has been sympathetically refurbished to sleep 31 people in 15/16 bedrooms, featuring multiple reception rooms, a cinema/party room and over four acres of professionally landscaped grounds. It's a popular holiday home for group self-catering holidays in Somerset as it is convenient for the M5 and has a wide choice of activities and sights within easy reach. You can walk to the pub, supermarket, restaurants and cafes, or talk to the owner about brining the entertainment and catering in house.

Tone Dale House is a big house for group self-catering holidays in Somerset. From its original construction in 1797 as a mill owner's mansion to its current incarnation as a holiday rental, it has all you need for a memorable stay, including huge areas to entertain and socialise, beautiful bedrooms, gorgeous period features, and 4.5 acres of private grounds. With space for 21 people in the main house and a further 10 more in the converted stables, it's a fantastic setting for your hen weekend, milestone birthday, or for a fun reunion with your extended family and friends. It's in a quiet spot on the outskirts of Wellington, less than a mile from the Duke of Wellington pub and within strolling distance of a cafe and a small supermarket.

Wellington is a traditional town seven miles from Taunton and convenient for the M5. It has a reputation as a "food town" and is perfect for when you've worked up an appetite walking and cycling in the Blackdown and Brendan Hills. There is plenty to do in the area, from admiring the spectacular views from the top of Glastonbury Tor before wandering around the abbey and town crammed with eclectic shops and businesses to walking around Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole Caves (cheesy Star Wars jokes are essential). Take the kids to Diggerland, where they can also accommodate grown up's parties. Or visit Crealy Adventure Park, Quadworld, Tropiquaria, and historic properties such as Cothay House, Knightshays, and Killerton House. Book a ride on the West Somerset Railway and admire the scenic countryside from a heritage steam train, or pay a visit to Sheppey's Cider Farm to see the orchard, eat at the cafe/restaurant, or buy local delicacies from the award-winning farm shop.

The Big House Co expertly manages Tone Dale House. They know that no detail is too small to plan a fun and memorable group house stay. They can help arrange on-site activities like laser clay shooting, massage and manicures, karaoke, casino nights, bouncy castles, and casino or murder mystery nights. Other nearby activities for you and your guests include horse riding, quad biking and off-road karting, fly-fishing, 4x4 driving experiences, and paintball. The property is available for weekends, mid-week stays, and week-long bookings.
