Guests say

Greenslades is a well-received cottage in Somerset, praised for its comfort, spaciousness, and well-maintained garden. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches, including a welcoming cake, and the property's location, which offers easy access to local attractions and nature. While some guests mention steep access and steps, the overall sentiment is positive, with many looking forward to returning.

Most guests found Greenslades clean and well-prepared for their stay, with only a few isolated comments about minor cleanliness issues. The property is generally maintained to a high standard, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere.

The cottage's location is highly praised for its proximity to both the coast and moorland walks, as well as local pubs and amenities. Its rural setting offers a peaceful retreat with opportunities to enjoy wildlife and the countryside.

Guests consistently note the comfort of Greenslades, mentioning comfortable beds, a cosy log fire, and a spacious layout. The property provides a homely feel, making it an ideal base for relaxation and family gatherings.

The cottage is well-equipped with high-spec finishes, and guests appreciate the extra facilities like table tennis and log fires. However, some guests experienced minor maintenance issues and suggested improvements, such as better signage and instructions.

While many guests mention and appreciate the thoughtful gesture of a cake on arrival, as this is not a guaranteed amenity for every stay, it cannot be factored into the score. The overall thoughtfulness of the provisions and attention to guest comfort is evident, though.

I'm sure you get moans and groans as people always find something to moan about, we had a lovely time, heating was set which was nice to come into as it wasn't warm on our stay. Cake on side, beds made and 9/10 for cleanliness so what else can you ask for... Bigger tv that's all as I'm deaf and struggled with subtitles from the sofa in the evening but that's just me being cheeky! Loved it!

We found Greenslades well equipped and comfortable. Not far to walk to the local pubs, both of which were great as well as a superb tearoom in the village. Lovely touch was the Apple cake which we all enjoyed. Ample parking for all our vehicles.

Downstairs the kitchen is large and extremely well equipped and the lounge has plenty of space for relaxing in the evening. The beds upstairs were comfortable and it worked well having 2 ensuites and a separate bathroom for the 3rd bedroom. Despite the instructions from the owners we struggled to find the cottage the first time : a sign saying Greenslades as you approach the fork in the road would be helpful as you can't see the house sign until you've driven past the turning into the drive! The owners have provided a really detailed file about the house and the area (best we've ever seen) and the fresh milk and home made cake on arrival were very welcome.
