Nestled in the historical village of Durrington in the county of Wiltshire, rests this single-storey, cream cottage, Southwinds. This detached holiday home is settled in a peaceful spot, just paces away from the ancient remains of Stonehenge, making this an idyllic base for history buffs or a family of four. Park up on the private driveway before making your way inside to discover the spacious sitting room, where you can unwind with a good book on the plush sofa. Flicker through the TV or throw open the French doors to explore the pretty patio area; bask in the sun on the furniture and your furry friend can stretch their legs on the grass. Retreat inside and locate the stylish kitchen area, where you can rustle up tasty treats courtesy of the electric cooker and use the dishwasher for a fuss-free clean. When dinner is served, gather in the dining room, and uncork a bottle of bubbly to celebrate your getaway, as plans are made for the rest of the holiday. After an action-packed day in the countryside of Wiltshire, rinse the day away in the shower room before choosing your bedroom. Climb into the king-size bed or snuggle up in the twin bedroom; both rooms offer furniture to keep your holiday clothes neat. If you fancy a break from the kitchen, a short stroll will lead you to the
traditional Stonehenge Inn, here you can relish a carvery dinner and refreshing pint, or if that's not to your taste, test your palette at the Emperor of India! Be sure to visit one of Britain's most iconic landmark, Stonehenge, for a trip into the past, stroll around the Millenium Park or get dressed up to the nines for a day at
Avon Vale Races. For a captivating Cathedral, head into the heart of Salisbury, here you can enjoy the History Hunt to unveil the rich history of the city and tour the Grade I listed Museum. For memories you will cherish, choose Southwinds for your next staycation.
Durrington is a peaceful civil parish in Wiltshire, close to the famous Stonehenge. The old Durrington Walls and Woodhenge are a prominent point of the historic village, which dates back to the Neolithic era. On its epic trip to the English Channel, the majestic River Avon passes through the settlement. In the centre, you'll find a variety of shops, bars, and eateries; however, Amesbury, just two miles away, has loads more conveniences and attractions. Amesbury is famous for being the site of Stonehenge's construction, and it is today a popular yet tranquil tourist destination all year.

Sleep was difficult, especially before midnight. Very clean and comfortable with just one thing which needs improvement - the water pressure in the shower is terrible, not much more than a dribble!
